Despite our nightmare season, it seems Rodney is nonetheless really happy and proud that he spent a year at Georgetown. I felt that throughout the season and it was on display again last night. I love him for that.

CONGRATS! Nice W and possibly the best March result we have witnessed in awhile.

Good luck to Rodney. A tall mountain to climb, but you gotta believe in yourself.

I know Rodney is a bit older than the norm for a guy at his stage of his career but, with some work on his D, could be a nice piece for a number of teams off of the bench. Or, ya know, starting for the Knicks.

Rodney has less than a zero shot in the NBA but could make some money overseas or bounce around D-league until he decides to go overseas. I wish him well and the publicity he's getting will help with his pursuits. His chances aren't great. But less than zero? Do you feel it's your job to be an ass?

Rodney is 6'5", is a good shooter with bounce and speed. With some work on his D, he's probably on par with guys that have NBA jobs right now. Considering the finals are happening, have you ever watched Iman Shumpert play?

Considering the finals are happening, have you ever watched Iman Shumpert play? Shumpert is only there for D. He's not an offensive weapon at all for Cavaliers. He's barely even a factor at all on that team and that was true last year. That said it's his D (and perhaps his relationship to LeBron) that has kept him around. Rodney's game would more likely have to compete with another Cav like Kyle Korver to make the NBA. Just don't see it but hope I'm wrong. Shumpert is an average defender. And makes horrible decisions on offense. How about Ian Clark? Less than zero? Still?

He doesn't do anything else and I watch the Cleveland games. Ian Clark who knows? Rodney's game is a scorer but in the NBA he needs to be a shooter to have a spot. He's not going to drive by anyone at that level so his lone skill will be to knock down the three. He's got a nice stroke but him convincing the league he can do it at that level is another story. The point is saying Rodney has a "less than zero" shot at the nba is just disrespectful to the kid and completely unnecessary. Even if the chances are slim of him making a roster there's no reason to say that about someone who clearly is working his hardest to follow his NBA dream.

He isn't. The better question, that you alluded to, is why is he in the league? I only picked the two teams in the finals to demonstrate that your initial post was ridiculous. There's at least one guy on each team with which Rodney would compare fairly favorably. There are plenty more. He needs to show out and have some luck and, hopefully, someone will take a chance on him. Hollis got a shot. Granted, it was the Sixers but he got a shot. So did Henry. Why not Rodney? Chris Wright got a cup of coffee against big odds. Trillest made the point far better than I did. Rodney has a shot. It's a long one. But a shot nonetheless. It's far from less than zero.

It's an opinion and something a message board debates. He's a grown man that will do what he's going to do and nothing we say will impact that. This is a message board where people offer opinions and debate topics and has nothing to do with what will be the outcome of players. Time to realize this is a big time program and we can have a real discussion rather than pat everybody on the back and treat it like our other athletic programs that starve for resources. It's not patting Rodney on the back to say that he has a better than "less than zero" shot at the NBA. It's a fact.
