Please don't poke holes in Pryor's game when he is by far the best we have. Peak is solid, but cannot produce Rodney's output. He can force the issue at times, but we don't have many players for him to pass to that are reliable.

He's been better than we had any right to believe he would be. I hope we gel together into a good enough team to get him the publicity he deserves because he can flat out ball.

I mentioned this in another thread but Pryor is currently ranked 40th in the country in points per game.
Still early but I think it is likely that the Hoyas got the best grad transfer in 2016 and maybe the best transfer of the year, period.

He's 56th in offensive rating, 22nd in eFG% and 16th in true shooting percentage. He's been an offensive force.

He's basically like getting a 5 star freshman recruit.

I'd argue that Pryor making the league is potentially more important to the program than LJ making it. It sends the message that a kid can come to Georgetown and in his first year make a huge impact. This would bode especially well for 5th year transfers looking for immediate playing time and a shot to get to the next level. We are going to have to rely on getting some of these guys to fill in the void left from transfers, graduates and players making the leap.
Pryor came to Georgetown because he knew he could start from day one. He didn't necessarily want to be a complimentary player like he would have been had he transferred to Kansas. He wanted to be the man....and at 20 plus ppg....he's exactly that.

He's basically like getting a 5 star freshman recruit. Totally agree with this point. What's the difference between a year of Pryor and a year of somebody like Markelle Fultz?

Making it into the NBA after one year at Georgetown would really help attract other high level grad transfers, but even if he does not end up in the NBA ( and ends up in the D-league or overseas) it should make the Hoyas attractive to transfers looking for a place where they can come and make an instant impact and get some great national exposure. They are going to need someone next year to come in and provide them with some consistent offense so I hope Rodney continues his great play and opens the door for the Hoyas to get another effective transfer scorer for next year.

Does anyone know how to see stats of transfer players for this season? Is it possible? I'm really curious to see how Rodney ranks vs other who transferred in and are playing their 1st season at a new program.
I know where the NCAA stats are but they don't break out transfers.

Need a gigantic game from him in order to win tonight.

True. If he wants the chance to get paid to play basketball somewhere next year, he has a terrific chance to prove that he is worthy of that tonight. I hope that he lets the game come to him and gets hot like versus DePaul. He is a tough matchup for anyone when he is on.

Very true. Need at least 20, maybe 25 ( and something similar from LJ) - unless maybe Marcus get hot and gives us 15+

It'll be interesting to see who Nova puts Bridges on. He is a more then capable defender and whoever he mans up on will have a tough day.
I assume it'll be Pryor but he can defend players like Peak and Derrickson as well.

I think we need 15+ points from at least 3 players including Pryor and Peak. And then a nice surprise game from 2 others in the 8-10 point range to get a win. Of course, we need to rebound as well.

If we play a perimeter oriented offense, we get spanked...to have any real chance we have to use our size advantage, and our "bigs" (Hayes, Govan, Derrickson and Agau) have to be effective...it will probably not happen, but I'd use a high low offensive strategy with Govan at the top of the key and Hayes inside (with Derrickson and Agau dublicating this strategy as subs...I'd have Peak and Pryor on the wings with Moseley/Mulmore at the ball handling spot...I would run this because Villanova has great perimeter D and quickness but not great size and/or depth at the big spots...Govan can shoot well from the top of the key (as can Derrickson) and this forces Nova to pull someone out from the basket, and leaves Hayes one on one inside, where he must score around the hoop...this option should be effective, as Nova will likely be more focused on Peak/Pryor on the wings...if an extra defender tries to help inside on Hayes, he can zip it to one of the wings...Derrickson and Agau can sub for Govan and Hayes and repeat the process...On D , I would do a Triangle and 2, with the two being man to man on Hart and Jenkins...the inside zone guys in this D should be better able to "stay home" and cut off penetration/take charges, especially by Hart...This strategy on O should enable us to go from inside/out which should lead to better perimeter shooting...all this should result in a Hoya victory, but if it doesn't, don't blame me...I'm not a coach, I'm just a coaching monitor...
