Does anyone still watch the All Star game? As much as I love baseball, I haven't watched in years. Maybe I'll watch tonight, since I haven't in so long. Or I could cut the grass since it's cooled off... I used to absolutely LOVE it as a kid, but it's just one more thing interleague play has ruined about baseball. Yeah, CD, I'm not a fan of interleague play either. The fact that the leagues did not play is one of the things that made the All Star game special to me.

No brainer. Grab that mower! The grass won out. Good call. And you got that fresh cut grass smell to boot. Can't get that watching the All Star game in high def.

No brainer. Grab that mower! The grass won out. I'll say this--if you ever get the opportunity to go to an All Star Game, do it. I went to the one here in Minneapolis, and it was an awesome time. Getting to see all of the big name players live in one game was a really cool experience.

Just watched the 30 for 30 on Doc and Darryl. As stated so eloquently in Bronx Tale, "wasted talent..."

Royals 4, National League 2. Nice run by the Royals to get back in the conversation. Only 3 back in the Wild Card. They were close to being done not too long ago.

They were pretty much done after July, but they're right back in it (though losing 2 of 3 to the Yankees hurts). Pretty good job considering the injuries they've suffered.

How about this! A pitcher in his first at bat, at least this season has a line as a hitter as: M Latos P 1 1 1 1 0 0 1.000 1.000 4.000
Yes, that is a slugging percentage of 4000. He might as well quit while he is ahead.

^^^Actually, Latos had two ABs with the White Sox in an interleague game prior to coming to the Nats. But I know what you mean!

Harvey, DeGrom, Wheeler, Wright, Walker, Matz,Duda...
If he doesn't get fired, Terry Collins should be Manager of the Year for being close to the post season

Horrible just horrible. That young man was an incendiary talent who played the game with a perpetual smile. May God hold and keep him and his family close.

Stunningly sad news. The irony of Jose Fernandez's death, in the water off of Miami Beach, in juxtaposition to the manner in which he escaped Cuba as a teenager, is mind boggling. Elvado nailed it; a amazingly talented young man with a happy passion for the sport. Requiescat in pace, Jose.

The Mets have been trying to make the post-season with the Las Vegas 51s pitching staff for the past month. The fact that they are presently within wild card range is startling.

Dodgers won the West with the Oklahoma City pitching staff combined with a bunch of guys who couldn't stay off of the DL. And they turned it around after Kershaw got hurt. Dave Roberts is manager of the year (if it isn't Joe Maddon).

Dee Gordon lead off HR. Bawling as he returns to dugout. No sport does big moments like baseball. I am a Met fan and got chills.

I feel badly for everyone involved, but this is pretty much an impossible situation for Colon and the Mets tonight. How can you possibly have your heart into wanting to beat the Marlins after all this?
