Watching the Mets/Nats game on MLB Extra Injings package and am being subjected to Caroenter and Santangelo. How can the baseball team in thenation's capital empty these two ham and eggers? They are nothing more than babbling fan boys who probably wear rally caps in the booth. They are really hideous to listen to. I feel sorry for you -- I have MLB.tv and have Gary Cohen and Ron Darling.

The TV broadcast team always underwhelmed me as well, especially F.P.

Jon Miller is one of the finest radio announcers ever. Listening to Orioles games when I lived in DC was pure pleasure. To this day, despite not being a Giants fan, I occasionally tune in to their games just to listen to Miller.

F.P. Santangelo is an announcer now? Is that following the old maxim that those that can't play, announce?

Think they were last year too. Like the way they are playing but do not trust their pen. Interested to see if Mets punch back later this week.

I expect a dogfight all year with the Mets. They did a great job in sweeping the Cubs.

The Yankees should be sellers and that's one of the few areas in which they have depth and talent. Realistically, they should be unloading 1 if not 2 of Betances, Miller and Chapman.

No matter what else you want to say about him, but Chapman is one of the most entertaining players in MLB. You can tell he's throwing harder than every other pitcher just watching him warm up. The catcher's mitt pops differently. Just really cool to see.

Actually, I think the bullpen is fine, other than lacking a bona fide, shutdown closer. I'd love to get any one of those three. I bet the price would be really high, however.

The price for Chapman won't be as high as for Miller or Betances, because Chapman will be a free agent at the end of the season. Nonetheless, I don't think the Nationals can get any of them without putting Lucas Giolito and/or Trea Turner into a package deal.

Neither would I. And that's why I believe that Miller, Chapman and/or Betances, if the Yankees trade any of them, will be headed to locations other than Washington.

Does anyone still watch the All Star game? As much as I love baseball, I haven't watched in years. Maybe I'll watch tonight, since I haven't in so long. Or I could cut the grass since it's cooled off...

The combination of my middle age, inter league play and the saturation of televised baseball leaves me wholly disinterested in the All Star Game, thought it remains the only All Star Game among the four major sports that even resembles a real game

I'll try to watch the player introductions, but I usually lose interest before the first inning is over.
