You're on to something. The sports media really have been slurping the Royals over the past three decades as the powerhouse from the heart of America ran roughshod over baseball for 30 years. When, oh when, will the plucky Phils, downtrodden Yankees, and woebegone Red Sox get any love from ESPN and other media outlets? Touchy touchy. Methinks I hit a nerve. They lost me when they interviewed Salvador Perez about whether he or Escobar smells better on the field and how hitters react to his perfume. I'm not touchy, just amused at how anyone could be put off my the media attention the Royals have received when there are so many other, valid targets. Start with the other MLB team in Missouri and their "Best Fans in Baseball."

I suffer from a lifelong case of the curse of Flushing. Hopefully our teams will be battling it out all season!

Nice minor league touch by KC playing "American Woman" as Syndergaard took the mound today. He then proceeded to bitch slap them again.

Syndergaard had nasty stuff today (I know, surprise, surprise). But he's only the #3 in the rotation, behind Harvey and deGrom. Had to like the Mets bullpen. . .Henderson, Reed and Familia were perfect in relief of Syndergaard. If the bullpen holds up and supports the starting rotation, they may not need to score three runs a game to win.

Honestly, I think the Mets' rotation from top to bottom is DeGrom, Thor and then Harvey, even if that's not how they started the year. DeGrom has been the team's best pitcher the past 2 years.

Day in and day out, DeGrom is the Mets most consistent pitcher and has been. Syndergaard is the man with the most upside. Harvey has the most "ace-like" demeanor and carries himself as the staff leader. It is a nice discussion to worry about. Syndergaard has the potential to be as good as there is in the game.

I hate to admit it, but the Mets arms worry me. Nats certainly lack the depth on the mound that the Mets appear to possess. Our bullpen is a huge question mark as we begin the season. I hope it's a great pennant race this year.

I hope it's a great pennant race this year. It should be a good race in the East. I like several Nats players, many of whom have been great friends to my son, who met them through. The courtesy of Big Elephant of this board. Chief among them Harper, who gets a bad rap. He is the most polite young athlete I have ever met and treated Harry like a rock star. Obviously, like any MLB year, the question surround health and whether any players massively under or over perform. Should be exciting. Nats made major upgrade when they offloaded Williams.

I hope it's a great pennant race this year. For the Mets, the issue will be whether they can score some runs this year, or whether they revert back to pre-July/World Series Mets scoring 2-3 runs per game. I hate having that pressure all the time on the young arms.

Can we prevent teams for scoring, though? Beyond Scherzer and Stras, it could get dicey.

I would admit that Denkinger "gifted" them the Championship, if it weren't for the series of events that occurred after that play in game 6, and the complete meltdown by the Cards in game 7 I do admit that Denkinger blew the call. You gotta admit, this jersey is a nice troll of Cards fans:

So Soler plays in left field instead of Schwarber. That's still a really good team. May hurt them regarding trade flexibility if they are looking to improve the rotation come July, but they are still far better than the vast majority of the league (well, except my Mets).

Let's wait until the Nats play a team with a winning record. Hasn't happened yet.

Watching the Mets/Nats game on MLB Extra Injings package and am being subjected to Caroenter and Santangelo.
How can the baseball team in the nation's capital employ these two ham and eggers? They are nothing more than babbling fan boys who probably wear rally caps in the booth.
They are really hideous to listen to.
