World Champion Kansas City Royals. I just like typing that. I've never been able to hate the Royals. George Brett and John Mayberry were two of my favorites back when.

John Mayberry - that's going old school. Speaking of George Brett, I never knew he was in this [in]famous photo until I read this on the NYTimes today: ‘A Front-Row Seat. To Misery.’

But can anyone, anywhere, tire of hearing about what a great bunch of guys the Royals are?
Apparently not, if you watch mainstream sports media.

The sports media really have been slurping the Royals over the past three decades as the powerhouse from the heart of America ran roughshod over baseball for 30 years. When, oh when, will the plucky Phils, downtrodden Yankees, and woebegone Red Sox get any love from ESPN and other media outlets?

They lost me when they interviewed Salvador Perez about whether he or Escobar smells better on the field and how hitters react to his perfume.

More like saw an easy mark and felt like starting an online scuffle.
