Marcus will be ready. Ellington giving Ochefu fits on the perimeter and has opened up the middle for marquette guards. Thinking that Govan as a perimeter threat can pull Ochefu out as well.
Josh hart scares me.

We have better players. They are a better team.
That said, I have a good feeling about Saturday.

It seems like we're slowly clawing out of the hole we dug. Each game has been a little better than the last. DSR found his shot tonight. Copeland looks confident and engaged again, even if his shot isn't falling. Campbell had his best game of the season. We got bad LJ tonight so we should get good LJ Saturday. I too have a good feeling. Saturday is the game where it all comes back together and we see the team that went down to the wire with Maryland and Duke, only this time we come out with the W.

Well a win here and you can officially put the Hoyas back in the discussion of being a team that can challenge for the Big East title and lessen the stains that are Radford and UNC whatever.

They certainly looked beatable last night playing the Quette at home. Jay usually plays physical with lots of fouls at the Phone Booth. If DSR is back in the groove it should be a great opportunity for our Hoyas to pick up a much needed W against a ranked team.

If they get us up in the air, I do not want any of that twisting our body to avoid contact crap. Come straight down, hard, with hands straight up, following through on the landing, and make them earn their points from the line.

Like others said, I think we match up well against Nova. I would argue we match up better against them than Butler, Providence or Xavier. Archy is a good ball handler, but he is a pass first guard. We defended them well last year by staying in our lanes. My dime store opinion is that they are more of a penetrate and kick type of 3 point team, not a screen/pick type team. And, I think III can have this bunch a little more ready to defend that. We'll see. To state the obvious, if he play our 3pt defense to date, we will get crushed.

We really need Peak to stay out of foul trouble. Nova is definitely the type of team that will go right after him to get fouls. He has to move his feet and not get physical on the perimeter, because the Nova guards will be trying to get all the cheap touch fouls they can get

Nova is now #1 in RPI, opportunities like this at home do not come along very often. I am concerned about our foul numbers in this game, but I think we can match-up with them. I am hoping for 10+ threes from us and some stifling defense like last season. Hopefully DSR is still on fire for this one. Go Hoyas!

On some level, I say let them shoot the threes, while trying not to give them wide open looks, if we can avoid fouls and letting them have a field day from the line. If they make a bunch of threes, they win. If they shoot so-so from three (or worse), we should have more than a fighting chance if we can stay out of bad foul trouble. And if we foul, make it count. Put them on the floor and make them earn those points.

Looked up the story from last year's 78-58 rout at home. Big concern has to be whether this year's squad can play defense like last year's. Can we hold them to 58 points? Also, Nova made a run in that game when Trawick got poked in the eye and sat for a few minutes. No Trawick this year. I go back to my 65 point observation. If we can hold them to 65 or less we win. This has to bathe game our defense finally steps up.

I actually don't think it's a particularly great matchup for us, but I'm hopeful as ever.
On offense, we've been relying on being able to spread teams out, force a bit of help off of a pick or otherwise, and kick for open looks, but theirs is a tough team to do that against. It's easy to say that we have an advantage inside, but many teams do against them, and they do a good job creatively and aggressively defending the post. Unfortunately, we aren't particularly good with our passing either into or out of the post, so one key will be to take advantage of the post when it's there, but don't force it in. We've been really bad at that all year; now would be a good team to figure it out. We also haven't had much luck playing anyone but the five in the post -- the mismatches down there are really at the other spots on the floor (at least while Ochefu is in the game). It would be nice to exploit Marcus or someone else down there, but again, we haven't done it too well this year.
Also, I think Jesse is a big part of the game plan in this one. Force Ochefu outside, which hopefully makes it harder for him to help on their aggressive D. Needless to say, if we can't consistently pound it inside (and I doubt we'll be able to), and we can't consistently beat them one on one to get to the hoop, we're going to have to be awfully efficient shooting the three. Or get some points off turnovers.
The other side of the ball is the key. They love to drive and kick and, well, that's not been our strength. Make them shoot over the top.
