Kid is a physical specimen and a high volume scorer. Not worried about him getting into bball shape in the least bit. Expect things to heat up here.

B&G I agree the kid has a college ready body and game. I've seen the kid play in person plenty of times and think he would be a huge addition. His physical development is one of the reasons I'm hoping we get him over other prospects. But you have to agree with me that there is a huge difference between basketball shape and going through a college conditioning program. Is there really a chance that if he commits to us in time for the 2nd semester, he will play this season? Considering his conditioning, academic comfort level and getting through the eligibility center, why waist a whole year of eligibility for a semester? Does Eubanks want to play this year? Is that a sticking point in his recruitment?

HOYAS definitely in contact. Don't be surprised if a visit is set up soon. Good news! This Hoya staff has not succeeded with every recruit, nor with every position. They have had better success with the 3/4/5 spots than the 1 & 2. But, over the past couple of years they have had remarkable success. And they have been on top of pretty much every situation. Got us in with kids who suddenly became available as transfers, 5th year seniors and unexpectedly eligble kids like Eubanks. In short - they work hard AND effectively. Sometimes when we have disappointing results at guard despite making it to the last 2 or 3 we lose sight of how much they have achieved. I have no clue if they'll be able to reel in Eubanks, but hats off to them regardless for the amazing job they do. We are going to win a lot of games this season due to the kids who arrived in the 2 most recent classes.

I'm very enthused about this possibility...to me, he's exactly the type of player we need to land...a 6'5 athletic 2GD who can score, shoot with range and can defend...I hope he can handle the academics, has good character and blends well with the team...if so, whether he is ready 2nd semester or next year with DSR gone, I think he'd be a great addition.

Does anybody have an idea when he plans to come out with a decision?

No one knows exactly....there are a few moving parts in play. Staff is making a hard push for Kobe, they are in regular contact....and think that he would flourish in our system.

Akoy injury opens some things up as well.

Akoy injury opens some things up as well. Does it, though? My understanding is that Eubanks is a guard whereas Agau's time would have been mostly at the 4 or 5.

They are, but I'm guessing Akoy being injured means that players who can play 3 or 4 will spend more time at the 4, players that play 2 or 3 will therefore then spend more time at the 3, leaving more minutes at the 2. The way JT3 plays means that when minutes open up at one spot, minutes open up at every spot since our players are so interchangeable.

Akoy injury opens some things up as well. Think it has less to do with Akoy and more to do with DSR graduating this year. They love his ability to get to the basket, his footwork, his ability to create his own shot, and his ability to hit the outside shot.

Those are very nice credentials for a prospect.

Right now the ability to create a shot and hit the outside shot should be a main criteria for the next guard recruit as those returning are still developing into outside shooters.

Sounds like he is eligible immediately. We have to win one of these contests- maybe this one is it.

I assume he'd have to enroll second semester and be eligible then, since we're more then a month into the academic year. I trust the staff to do their diligence on this kid. Seems like the talent is there.
