kid is from FL and has two Texas schools and us after committing to Alabama and Oregon? Odd. If he looks at playing time, it is at Gtown. With Foster & Mosely, suddenly the backcourt situation would seem more settled. I wonder what he is looking for as a 2nd semester only freshman in terms of PT & development. You gotta figure he would be pretty far behind other players regardless of which program he chooses.

baylor has 3 freshman guards and one sophomore (allerick freeman). A&M has four freshman guards as well. Not saying these guys are any good but just based on numbers alone, it seems we present a really solid opportunity. We have one freshman G (johnson) & two sophomores (peak & Campbell) and that is it. None of the three we have it a traditional 2 guard either. Even considering Mosely & Foster, we definitely have plenty of minutes available next year and he could even get a little run this year based on injuries (hope not) or foul trouble (inevitable).

Well Foster doesnt come next year so he doesnt factor into next year at all.

According to article by Zach Smart and Adam Zagoria "The 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Elev8 Academy (FL) is down to Texas A & M, Baylor, and Georgetown and plans to visit Georgetown and A&M."
“Right now, I like what Georgetown has to offer,” he previously told SNY.tv. “I’m still looking to visit Texas A & M as soon as I get done with some paperwork.”

Hope we can get him. That would be a huge weapon that we could add to make up for the loss of Agau and also put us in good position for next year regardless of seventh woods/brown/norvell etc.

He'll probably stay in the state of Texas.

I am not sure that Eubanks would get significant playing time in the second semester, depending on how many minutes guys like DSR, Peak, and Kaleb Johnson are playing, but I think it would be wide open for him on next year's roster.

I would assume he is likely looking at 16/17 roster make-ups (or he should be). Coming in behind guys that have already played together all summer, in Italy, and first semester would be tough. Those guys also all have seniority outside of Johnson and from the write up they sound like different types of players.

Some people on other boards seem to think he is coming here now. That he is leaning here and the visit is what will clinch it.

Basketball aside, I can't decide how I feel about this case. I'm fine with taking a chance on a kid assuming, of course, that he seems committed and motivated. And, not knowing the details of the academic red flags here, I guess one just has to trust the staff. I'm more concerned not for the sake of the team but for the sake of the kid. If he does, in fact, struggle with the classwork and finds himself ineligible, that could hurt his aspirations for his future. On the other hand, I have a lot of faith in the Georgetown staff and faculty's ability to support the students and to educate them. That alone could be a huge opportunity for Kobie.
From a pure basketball perspective, we could certainly use the depth and a kid that can shoot always has a spot. The kid looks to have a BE ready body already which is a big plus. If he is a plus defender, all the better.

Just a little reminder, JT has always said back when he was a kid there was no way he would have been admitted to GU - or many other schools. He just did not have the grades in HS. Pops has long since shown he has plenty of smarts. I don't know anything about Eubanks academic issues. But just because he had a problem with the NCAA doesn't mean we should judge him one way or the other. Let's see what happens if/when he opts for the Hilltop! I hope he does. Coach and staff know they have to keep him in school and academically eligible.

What did he do to become un ineligible? There are articles out there but the gist of it is that he thought he had a 2.5 gpa when he left Our Savior HS & headed to Baylor.. When Baylor requested his final transcripts, Our Savior said they would only certify that he had a 2.2 which meant he wasn't eligible by NCAA standards to play as a freshman so he de-committed.. He sued the school for grade manipulation btw.. Not sure what his grades were at Elev8 but my assumption is that the NCAA wouldn't accept his ACT score due to it's sliding scale requirement.. Seems to me Alabama said if you can't play ball as a freshman we're not letting you into our school otherwise he could have just RS'd this year at 'Bama.. He just rec'd his qualifying act score so he's now fully eligible by NCAA standards.. Not trying to judge him in anyway but I think it's fair to say he'll have to step up the effort academically if he comes to G'town however the fact that he's considering G'town heavily leads me to believe he knows this already.. I say take the chance on him..
