Today is the first elimination game and the Round of 16. Hopefully the US keeps winning so LJ can find his grove. I know he isn't meshing well with the style of offense being played but a key for him this next season will be consistency. Perhaps a Greek olive grove?

It means Greece is three hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time. We are a few hours behind GMT, so it's halftime now, US up 42-20.
No start for LJ, solid Defense but too deferential on O. You can hear Miller on the audio feed screaming for people to pass the ball, but LJ is the only one who hears it. Brunson, Trier, Tatum & Giles doing US scoring.

Second fewest minutes on the US team, despite being one of the more experienced players from the standpoint of having played a full season of college ball. Hopefully this Team USA experience is helping LJ identify opportunities to improve and bring a dose of reality to the NBA after next year talk.

Well pretty much everybody on the squad played between 13 and 18 minutes so....
Its pretty much one pass and shot so I dont know what u can take from it other than its ugly basketball and the US is lucky they are much more talented because there not Better coached...
Regarding pros hes probably at least a year away but circumstances might dictate otherwise

It's also apparent they are trying to make sure everyone sees the court. I don't believe this U19 series is a barometer of the coaching staff's abilities. Just getting the kids to stay positive, be energetic and enthusiastic, and generate some team spirit is a lot.

I go back and forth on whether this international experience will benefit Peak's game. I don't think it is a given that it will.
He needed to work on several things this off-season, perhaps the most important 4 things are (in no particular order):
1) Shed some of the freshman weight 2) Get stronger 3) Work on his shot, locking into a consistent, repeatable form that gives him confidence and improved accuracy from 3 4) Work on finishing around the hoop
I think practicing and playing a heavy overseas schedule will help with #1. The rest is debatable.

It can also be argued that his Team USA experience will help with at least 1 and 4

This board is unbelievable. Did ANYONE watch LJ last year and think, "man, he really needs to lose weight"?

LJ by the end of the season had definitely gained weight, particularly in the backside. He didn't have the explosion that he showed earlier in the year. Not sure if it was due to injury or if he ate out with Josh Smith too much, but he certainly was not in tip top condition last season and I think that hurt him.

You keep on looking at the backside of the players. I'll focus on his stat line against Utah.

I watched the game and Peak is the Wizards version of Otto Porter on this team. He plays great defense but he just mostly hangs out by the 3 point line on the offensive end and his teammates dont even look his way. There is no offense by the USA at all. You can tell the high school kids still think its AAU ball. Its just all driving to the basket and since they are better athletes it works so far.
