I watched the game and Peak is the Wizards version of Otto Porter on this team. He plays great defense but he just mostly hangs out by the 3 point line on the offensive end and his teammates dont even look his way. There is no offense by the USA at all. You can tell the high school kids still think its AAU ball. Its just all driving to the basket and since they are better athletes it works so far. Where is the coaching for this American team. Watched two games and cannot help but feel for Peak who is clearly a bystander on offense while watching the guards drive recklessly into the lane, sometimes going 1 on 2 or 1 on 3 and on occasion making a pass to a big. Sean Miller and Coley look like AAU coaches with loaded teams relying on pure skill to win games. I won't watch this again. It is everything we should be teaching players not to do.

1) playing on a USA select team with the best players in the country is ALWAYS a positive and a benefit to one's game. 2) Now that Joshua has left the hilltop, are we required to find another player and criticize his weight? This board is unbelievable. Did ANYONE watch LJ last year and think, "man, he really needs to lose weight"? Re: #2, the answer is yes, definitely. LJ by the end of the season had definitely gained weight, particularly in the backside. He didn't have the explosion that he showed earlier in the year. Not sure if it was due to injury or if he ate out with Josh Smith too much, but he certainly was not in tip top condition last season and I think that hurt him. You have a unique skill, my friend. That's all I'm going to say about that.

Espnu carrying USA v. Greece now. LJ gets only a few minutes early. First game I have seen. Others were right. Pretty bad basketball. Very much one on one and poor shooting. Really hard to tell whether guards are good when basketball is so sloppy.

Another day of crappy basketball as LJ didnt even shoot. He was up and down on D. I will say one thing Villanova got a very good player in Jalen Brunson. We will hate him, but hopefully for only 1 year.

He's a nice, controlled player, but I don't really see explosiveness.

He seems like one of those not so athletic PG that if he lead Nova to a deep run would be gone ala Ennis and Jones. I could see him and Tre having some real battles for a couple of years.

Brunson plays a relatively similar game to Scottie Reynolds. Not a super athlete or a great shooter.Good shooter, but not great. But he knows how to create opportunities for himself, and he has no shame when it comes to firing up shots. No surprise at all that he ended up at Nova, he is a perfect fit for what Wright wants out of his scoring guard.
He may have the same issues as Reynolds as an NBA prospect. He is not quick enough to compensate for his size (small for an NBA point guard), defense will probably be a problen in the nba. And he is not beating good NBA guards off the dribble consistently. If he stays in college for 3 or 4 years, he may well improve into a better NBA prospect. But right now - he looks like a 3 or 4 year college player to me.

LOL @ people trying to say anything negative about Jalen Brunson after today. He is a legit stud. And a MUCH better PG than Scottie Reynolds.

Only one post on here was remotely negative about his game, and that was to say he was a me-first player. You can go back to slurping other conference players now.

So pointing out he had a negative assist/turnover ratio wouldn't be a valid criticism of a PG? He's been doing very well and his assist/turnover ratio has in general been very good, but no one is immune from criticism. Especially when they play for Villanova.

A very close and more well played game than the rest today. Not saying it was all world but it was definitely better. LJ was a little more assertive today and hit a big 3 near the end. I will say that I was impressed by the officiating in all the games I watched. A lot of the U.S. guys got called for walks that they don't get called for here and it was good to see.

USA won 79-71 after winning the OT period 12-4. Peak played 14 minutes, shot 1/2 from Three (0/0 from 2), and 2/4 from the line for 5 pts. Had one board, one assist, one PF, 0 Turnovers. Brunson had 14 pts, 7 Assists and 5 boards, 0 turnovers, 40 minutes. Pretty impressive. And he was tourney MVP Tatum and Giles each had 13 pts, but Giles added 16 boards (7 offensive) Box Score www.fiba.com/world/u19/2015/0507/USA-Croatia#|tab=boxscore_statistics
