This would be ideal for us. I really think we only have one more year of Copeland so with DSR and Copeland I think this upcoming year would be our best shot with both. This whole thing is bizarre, though. He goes from "We have a great group of guys coming back... We had a great freshman class – those guys grew up a lot this year. We have a great core. Bradley Hayes will be back, so we have a for-sure big man. Our main core will still be there. We’ll be good" right after the Utah game to declaring with an agent a week later... and now we're back to maybe returning for his senior year. Is this the logical extension of guaranteeing victory, that we have guys guaranteeing where they'll be playing next year and changing their mind on a weekly basis?

Except the Juniors Model in hockey would be so throughly corrupted by what exists in AAU today. Plus the growth of Junior Hockey has all eliminated high school hockey as a feeder system and reduced most prep schools to a parking place for the top kids for a year or 2 before moving on college or back to juniors. Heck the ave. age of a college frosh is 20 yrs plus. How any of these kids get through the NCAA clearing house is beyond me especially those playing for a year with USA development. Your comments about high school hockey's elimination are very true. If a high school player here in New Jersey is not at Delbarton or Christian Brothers Academy, it is unlikely that any NCAA program will give them a first look, let alone a second glance; that's from the vantage point of a parent whose son played high school hockey for four years, and when he was approached to make the move (while a freshman) from the high school team to the local juniors team, quickly realized the potential folly of such move; he correctly surmised that his future at 5'9" was not on the ice, and said no. Those players who believe that they are "worthy" go out of state, or to Canada, to play juniors and eschew the high school teams. I don't know enough about the manner in which one can play junior hockey to age 19 or 20 and then qualify for a scholarship with the approval of the NCAA clearinghouse.

Maybe DSR reads this board, and saw how much he was/is loved here!

I don't want to get my hopes up, because I moved on from thinking about him being in our 2015/2016 plans, but let's be honest - we would be pretty happy if this happened... Casual was right with the rumors about him leaving, so let's hope they are right again...

Maybe he put enough feelers out, found out what his salary would be overseas and decided that being big man on campus was a better idea? One can hope, right?

I might weep with joy if this happened and I'm a grown ass man.

Not to be cynical, but could also be creating some leverage in a negotiation with a pro team...I certainly hope not, but just putting out the possibility.

Just finally accepted the fact that he was gone. Really going to do this to me?

I strongly hope he comes back. I also hope this rumor is settled in very short order because you'd have to think it has some effect on whether immediately-eligible transfers will come.
The worst possible situation would be that this drags on until the deadline, all of our targets go elsewhere, and then he decides to go pro anyway.

I hope DSR has pulled out the brilliant, Tom Izzo strategy of "you did not know how much you appreciated me until you thought I was gone." If so, welcome back. If not, best of luck! We love you either way!

Daniel - did you guys offer him some of that huge Moderator cash under the table to lure him back? Well played, HoyaTalk.

Hoyas still need another guard if DSR comes back so I'm not sure how much this rumor should hurt any possible recruits.

This would be the best decision for him, in my opinion.

Huge. Top 20 preseason and Big East favorites. Let's not go too far. We still have lost 2 starters and our 6th man. I think a slightly better season is in reach but by no means are we conference favorites. We've lost just as much if not more than a Villanova team that won our league by 4 games over us...

Tempering my excitement until an official announcement happens. When's the deadline? The 12th is it?
