Marquette grants release to basketball recruit Nick Noskowiak www.jsonline.com/sports/goldeneagles/marquette-grants-release-to-basketball-recruit-nick-noskowiak-b99444793z1-291926831.htmlmaha, Neb. — Marquette has granted the request of 6-foot-2 Sun Prairie guard Nick Noskowiak to be released from his national letter of intent, the school announced Friday. Once the release process is complete, Noskowiak will be able to play basketball at any other school but per league rule cannot join a Big East program. Alhough Noskowiak made the formal request, it was a mutual decision coach Steve Wojciechowski said. Noskowiak's departure leaves Marquette with four available scholarships for next season. Wojciechowski's first recruiting class, which was considered to be one of the top five in the country with Noskowiak, could see additions after the season. "We're continuing to recruit," Wojciechowski said. "A lot can happen. In today's day and age, there's a lot that happens in the spring. In some respects more things happen in the spring than in the fall. "We're thrilled with the three guys that are coming in, and they won't be alone." Still committed to Marquette are Henry Ellenson, a 6-10 forward from Rice Lake, Matt Heldt, a 6-foot-10 center from Neenah, and Haanif Cheatham, a 6-5 forward from Pembroke Pines, Fla.
