If someone just teaches him how to snap his wrist on his jumpshot it will be fine. He throws up a knuckleball push shot for some reason. Agreed. I don't remember it being such a knuckleball earlier in the year. He was driving with reckless abandon against Nova and just sort of throwing the ball towards the basket without much aim. Actually most of our guys were doing that for some reason. I think they got spooked by all the shot blocking early that they just wanted to get a clean shot off (without really aiming)

His shot has definitely regressed as the year has gone on. He's a consistent jumpshot away from being unstoppable.

Kind of exaggerating the performances of our freshmen so far?

On defense we tend to only notice what guys do when they make mistakes or do something exceptional but overall this kid has been very very good on D this year. If you don’t believe me next time you re-watch a game just pay attention to LJ on D. See’s man and ball, chucks cutters, guards multiple positions, and is always guarding one of the 2 best perimeter players on the opposing team.

Agree. Honestly, he just needs a few more threes to drop.

Needs to add a pull-up jumper. Doesn't always have to take it all the way to the rim.

Needs to add a pull-up jumper. Doesn't always have to take it all the way to the rim. The threat of the pull-up also makes the defender play him more honestly, and can actually make it easier to take it to the hoop.

I bet that both Peak's ability to finish at the rim and the frequency that little floater he sometimes shoots drops will show marked improvement next year.

He needs to have a better plan with the ball once he leaves his feet. Too often, he gets caught in the air with no reasonable shot or pass to make. The first crazy shot attempt that actually hit the top of the backboard and was called out of bounds was a good example.
Should improve with more strength, adding more dimensions to his game, and honing his decision making.

I agree, Peak will adjust as his game grows.

Other than Ike, LJ has the biggest upside on this team. I would say that by his Junior year he will be a monster but I'm afraid that he will explode next year and then leave to NBA.

LJ is a beast on defense already. He does need to work on his game a lot, but he is good already, and the ceiling is very high. It is hard to say whether his ceiling is higher or lower than Ike's. Time will tell, and it is a good problem for the Hoyas to have.

It's funny, but I see Peak as the most ready to contribute Day 1 (quite literally) but with the lowest ceiling among the 4 freshman who receive minutes.
Clearly, Ike has amazing potential, but I think we have only begun to scratch the surface with Paul White's massive skill set, and I think Tre Campbell will blossom next year with increased minutes as a 3-point shooter, defender, and leader of our up-tempo game.
Moving DSR back to the 2 guard could reap huge benefits as well.
If Govan and Akoy are ready for prime time, next year could be a Top 10 year for the Hoyas, with even an assumption of modest year-over-year improvement from Peak, White, Copeland, and Campbell.

Lowest ceiling? If Peak gains a consistent jumpshot the dude is unstoppable. Really a matter of someone teaching him to snap his wrist and stop throwing up knuckleballs If Peak has the lowest ceiling we will win a national championship and 3 NBA draft picks

I also get the feeling he is more of a volume scorer and takes a little while to warm up, but as a freshman he doesn't have the luxury to warm up with some misses.
