Man bites man. Suarez is just too much. He and Tyson should have a show together on the Food Network.... By all accounts, Suarez seems just an abysmal human being. If anyone knows differently, I'll be happy to be enlightened, but here's hoping they just boot him from the rest of the tournament. I'm a big liverpool fan but could never bring myself to root for him. After this I hope he signs with the highest bidder away from Anfield.

Really don't know what to make of the fact that my two year old daughter apparently bit her best friend at daycare today. We are Liverpool supporters, but I don't think I have ever held Suarez up as a role model. She got a time out for a couple of minutes. We shall see what sort of time out he gets.

It's a shame, since Suarez might possibly be the 3rd best player in the world. Love how he compounded the bite with the flop right afterwards. What a tool.

I thought the same but he did take a forearm shiver right to the face. That being said, I'm surprised the ref didn't call something...in live action I thought it was at the very least a headbutt.

He deserves whatever is coming from FIFA and I hope it's something.
Colombia will be smiling. Can Forlan work some magic?

If Saurez plays another minute in this Cup then FIFA are a heinously corrupt gang of blind & out-of-touch imbeciles.
So expect him to play every minute of Uruguay's remaining games.
Two things come to mind about this idiot: 1. How disgusted/embarrassed are you at him if you are a Uruguay supporter? This is your team's best player by far and he stains a massive win by doing something most people grow out of doing when they are still peeing in their pants. 2. Does this moron realize there is a 100% chance he is going to be CAUGHT on camera when he is about to bite someone? Does he know there are multiple cameras covering World Cup/Liverpool games? It is as if he needs to be put in a cage.

Daywalker it is. In any event, even LeBron is chuckling right now at the level of floppery in the World Cup. I know that the game is low on scoring and that's not a recipe for success in the States and it's a bit slow if you're a viewer that hasn't ever played. But the flopping and the BS that happens every other minute really is galling. I get that every advantage is meaningful but, if ever there was a sport that needed instant replay and fines for taking dives, it's World Cup soccer. How many times is that on Suarez anyway? 2 at least, no?

How many times is that on Suarez anyway? 2 at least, no? Unfortunately there are just some teams out there that flop and try to take every advantage of free kicks. Uruguay is one of them but there are plenty of teams that don't dive, fight through tackles and play tough. I agree there needs to be a system of review of diving but also of uncalled fouls if they're going that far. Maybe by 2022 if we're lucky.

If you're in the group which is more concerned with Ghana regarding the U.S.'s chances, you will be interested in the following news: www.espnfc.us/fifa-world-cup/story/1913522/ghana-send-home-kevin-prince-boateng-and-sulley-muntariI'm included. I think Ghana is(was) the main threat to the U.S.'s qualification if it lost. They're better physically and as a team than the Portuguese. Portugal lost two key players to injury, but at least Pepe is back and will keep them honest with his usual hits. The loss of Muntari and Boateng is huge, so it evens out the loss of the two Portuguese players.

So US lives to play another day.
Tell me, soccer honks, could anyone have envisioned Spain, Portugal (Iberian peninsula disaster), Italy and England all failing to qualify for the knockout round?
Not really a good world cup for the Euros, despite Germany, France, Belgium, Greece and the Netherlands moving on. And maybe Russia (TBD).
