Right now, Porter, Starks, and DSR are taking around 70% of the shot attempts each game. That is as it should be. We don't need Lubick or Trawick or Hopkins or Ayegba or Bowen looking to take more shots from the three main scorers unless they have an obvious mismatch and a high percentage shot. They can shoot layups and a few open jumpers or jump hooks to make the defense guard them, but otherwise keep working it to Otto, Starks, and DSR and then go after offensive rebounds and putbacks.

Anybody else think that with more playing time Bowen could be a Patrick Ewing Jr. - type off the bench spark for this team? I know he's not as big but he's amazingly athletic. Starks quoted as saying Bowen does amazing things in practice. The kid is a space cadet on the floor. Also, he must be an awful practice player.

If you put a senior Roy Hibbert on basically any team in the top 25, they are a national championship contender IMO. He was a MONSTER by the time his senior year came around. Anyway, we have the team that we have, and it's a pretty good team so let's just see what happens. The only problem with star big men in college basketball (with the 5 foul rule) is that sometime in the tournament the refs step in and put them in foul trouble keeping them off the court. Just the nature of the position it's easier to call fouls on these guys then guards or wings.

You mention it above, but speccfically, I would not mind seeing Lubick go to the hook shot more often than he does. He shoots that at about a 75% clip and there is no reason he should not attempt 4-5 a game on the low post as opposed to the 1-2 a game right now. Overall he shoots 60%, so IMO, that means he is not shooting enough.

Most of those missed hooks are on attempts that never really had a chance because he doesn't receive the ball in the right spot but is determined to put it up anyway. If there is a matchup where he can get to his spot, by all means, take an extra couple shots, but I don't think that is generally the case. hm

24 (or so) hours to go.
No more negativity, constructive criticism or objective analysis (which usually isn't objective anyway, just negativity in disguise).
Now is the time for unbridled enthusiasm ("enthusiasms! enthusiasms!") , complete and utter faith in our guys and unmitigated hatred towards Syracuse.
HOYA SAXA!!!

Anecdotally good news, FWIW. A buddy of mine who is coming down from NYC ran into a sophomore with a WAG shirt on on the train, who said "all" the students are coming back for this.

It's how Kareem got it done! GO HOYAS woooo woooo!! I just got that tingly feeling .... less than 24 hours to go!
