Based on Texas' play to date this is our last OOC test. We need to win this game. It will be interesting if Maymon is available or not for our match up. They seemed stumped by zone defense when I watched them earlier this year. This is a game we should win, but we have to put forth the effort on both ends of the court.

UTenn is a winnable game. However, Martin will have the Vols playing hard and smart for 40 minutes.

Pretty informed/reasonable discussion on the game and our team......I guess the color orange isn't always as bad as we think!

Looks like Tennessee's best offensive strength is getting to the free throw line. Luckily for us 1) we do a good job of not fouling 2) They're even worse than us at making free throws.
They play Oakland Monday night at 7pm. The game is on ESPN3 so should provide a good opportunity to scout them.

Anybody else notice that big Nate get few/bad passes. He dishes it out and no one returns the favor...once this is rectified he will be quite a threat!

The ft disparity was ridiculous. That said, we'll show up cause it's a big name. We have to find a way to get to 10 deep.

We could have done much, much worse in terms of absolute fouls (ignore the disparity, the game was called reasonably evenly). Better yet, while too many fouls were miles away from the basket, few if any of the shooting fouls were of the ticky-tack glorified incidental contact variety that have no impact on the shot, the kind that drive us insane.
In particular, it's worth noting that Nate and Mikael went toe-to-toe with the NCAA Preseason Player of the Year, a good 3(?) inches taller than them, rather well. Our frontcourt is playing with increased self-control and significantly better situational awareness than in past seasons.

That's one game and it's mostly attributable to Indiana's status. Currently we're 41st in the nation not sending people to the line.

There are only so many rebounds to be had.

Is there any good reason why this game is scheduled for 6:30EST instead of 7EST?
