Please stop with this disrespect claim. I'm a season ticket holder and don't mind at all. I want people to go to the games, period.

Along with outside shooting accuracy, which is always pretty erratic and usually the swing in close games, fouls called are going to be huge.
I think Stokes is a much worse matchup for Mikael, both offensively and defensively. (This is not bagging on Mikael -- the same would be true if we still had Henry). He's going to struggle on offense and defense with Stokes' size and strength.
If we can get a couple of early fouls on Stokes, that takes away a huge advantage for Tennessee. If Hopkins picks up a couple of early ones, Thompson needs to decide between putting Lubick on Stokes and going "small" or putting in Moses.
Hopefully, we can avoid dumb turnovers as Tennessee doesn't force them very much.

I assume Lubick would start on Stokes since they start the taller Hall along side stokes.

Don't know where else to put this and I don't want to bump the UCLA game thread back up but Josh Smith just left the team.

Or shoot a couple short to mid-range jumpers over him. Stokes' advantage is his size but he's not quick to get up. I wouldn't mind seeing Hop shoot a couple jumpers and draw him away from the basket. Beats backing in and bouncing off him until you fumble the ball away.

Kind of sad that all the talk is about this incredible mess that the Big East is in and not a game tomorrow night against a quality team. Hoyas need wins like this to maintain their prestige--now more than ever.

Tyler Adams just tweeted: "Got this Tennessee game on my mind"
Guy cannot even play. It bears repeating that he is an asset to this team, whether he suits up or not.

This will be a huge test for our big man depth. Tennessee has been good at getting to the line. I think they will do as much as humanly possible to pound the ball inside and get Hopkins and Nate in foul trouble. I hope we counter that with a lot of good transition scoring and even some press to minimize the pressure inside.

Maybe, but TN doesn't have a player over 6'9". I think one of Hops greatest strength is in denying the entry pass because he has the speed to slide around and deflect even after giving up good post position, which we can expect Stokes to get. Iff Hop can avoid getting ticky tacky fouls while slipping around to deny the pass, I am good with that.

I expect us to play a lot of 2-3 zone. They had no clue what to do against it when they were embarrassed by Oklahoma St.
