I would love nothing more than for Depaul to pull this out and knock UConn out of NCAA tourney contention.
When UConn's (Lamb's) threes stop falling, and they will, I think this could be a good game.

It could be, but I really don't have much faith in DePaul that it will be.
But thanks for showing up again (sort of), Blue Demons.

Depaul's press is leading to lay-ups and dunks on the other end for UConn. No way Depaul can win giving up easy buckets like that.

UCONN is a team that can make a run. I have them down making the tourney. With their back against the wall, their coach back, it is possible that they could win the BET tourney. Lets face it, they have the most talented roster in the BE. I know the homers hate to hear it, but there are 2 top ten nba picks on it, Napier who is an nba player (down the line), and a very very talented Boatright, who may play at the next level too. Only thing against RB is his height. If they can play together, I see them definitely getting to a Friday matchup with Cuse and winning a couple games in the NCAAs.
Write it down.

Having Burke continue to call games in the best conference tournament in country and in the 30th year at the Garden is disgraceful. [Edited--Admin.]
The new oncourt demonstrations to show Doris "knows the game". Just go do a women's game since that's so popular-oh wait-that's a lie too-nevermind.
BTW--count how many Providence references Doris drops during a game--she's either been told to bring up her school during every broadcast or is choosing to try and help Ed Cooley out. Usually about 3 per half--some odd reference like "Jae Crowder remind me of Michael Smith of Providence"-which is about as poor of a comparison as you could make. That's even beneath Jon Rothstein level of stupidity when it comes to player comparison.

If they can play together is quite a condition precedent for that group, though. What have you seen that would remotely suggest that they have embraced the team concept (I haven't seen today's game)?

Yes it is. And it may or may not happen, but if it does, they can win the BET and make a pretty deep run in the tourney. I am not watching the game either, but am following online. Nice shot distribution, lamb also has 4 ass, RB came off the bench, and Napier has only taken 3 shots. Im using my deductive reasoning ability to say that 1) the ball is moving; 2) the players who should be taking the lion's share of the shot attempts are (Drummond with 14 and Lamb with 15), and; 3) the result has been quite positive as they are up on Depaul by 12. Can they keep it going? Not sure.

Pitt up on SJU 33-28 at half...haven't been paying too much attention but it seems back and forth.

We are going to have to face PITT and we are going to have to beat them. No excuses.

Ashton Gibbs looks like he's actually trying for the first time in a while. Amazing how much better an offense looks when you make all your threes. Pitt still can't guard anyone though and their big guys are pathetic (unless we let them dunk with no defender within ten feet).

I'm trying to suppress the sickening thought of a UConn-like Pitt five-day run through GU and Cincinnati and keyed by some upsets to top seeds. I'm sure its just the jerseys though. Not the reality.

Gibbs was the preseason player of the year for the conference and is playing more like it today. They seem much more flawed than UConn was last year, but Gibbs has always killed us. Not saying we should be scared, but...

Pitt gets my blood boiling like no other program outside of Syracuse. Time to end their season.

I'd be lying if I said it didn't register in my mind as a possibility. Fact is, they still have the personnel and depth of a team that was ranked in the top 10 preseason. I'm angry that I have to even think about this but given our underwhelming performance at Pitt this season, it is tough to dismiss without second thought.

The thing that should make you guys feel better is that Pitt cant really afford to play us any differently than they have always played us. They just dont have that luxury. They had to win today just for the privilege. If we havent learned from the last several times we played them, like RDF and Rockaway said before, we deserve to go home early.
I was nervous about SJU because you could see Harkless and Harrison going off, but if Pitt beats us, it will once again be about their systematic way of taking us apart. I am confident III has made the adjustments.

The 2 Big East teams that I hate playing the most are Pitt and Cincy. We just never seem to match up well and they know exactly how to play us. Next two days are going to be gut-wrenching.

Maybe the problem is that I haven't watched any Pitt games all season, including, fortunately for me, our own. I don't really understand how they fell all the way to 5-13 in the conference. So it is hard for me to think of them as a bad team.
