I'm happy we don't have to try to beat st johns for a third time. I'm much more confident in our guys responding defensively to our last debacle vs Pitt, especially with the frosh stepping it up. Another revenge tour to the Big East championship!

The last time we played them we payed far too much attention to Woodall and Gibbs and not enough to actually playing defense. Definitely, imo, our worst played game of the season. If we can play good team defense and keep our turnovers that lead to runouts down, as well as shots that lead to run outs, I'll be happy. If Pitt just gets really hot, plays really well, what can you do? Just hope we go out there and play and hard and smart and leave it all out on the floor tomorrow. Nothing else you can do and can't really be disappointed with the result as long as they do that.

I think we need to be prepared for a press. The way our guys shyt the bed against MQ, I think that will be the blueprint to beat us going forward. I would love to get easy baskets against them instead of ALWAYS relying on our halfcourt. I hope III tells them, should we get pressed, not just to be content getting the ball into the front court and running our stuff, but instead to attack the press and get layups. That is the BEST way to discourage teams against the press. Should we see it tomorrow, and Id bet we do, ATTACK it and get layups/dunks.

Our team has to come to play and with a confidence that we can beat them.

You know the hoyas won't underestimate a team that beat them already this season. Although I hate that we have Pitt (could have had the winner of RU/VU), you have to be ready to beat anyone this time of year.
I also think the team knows it. When someone asked Jabril on twitter who he'd prefer to play tomorrow -- he had the right response:
"Don't matter!"

The Hoyas should be confident they are the #5 seed and Pitt is the #13. I am tired of hearing about Pitt and my guess is it will be a trendy pick for them to beat us tomorrow. That is garbage, we need to bring it for 40 minutes and take them out. Nothing would make me happier than knocking out our two achilles heels - Pitt and Cincy. But for some reason, I really want to beat Pitt the most. I just hate that Dixon has never had anything good to say about Georgetown, it just feels like he either doesn't like or respect JTIII, that is simply not allowed. Go get'em Hoyas!

didn't know where to put this, so decided this was as good a place as any. Near the end of the St. Johns/Pitt game Doris Burke mentions the departure of Pitt and Syracuse to the ACC and how everyone knows the real reason was because certain "people" in the ACC were not happy that for the last number of years the Big East was/is considered the best basketball conference. She mentioned that didn't sit too well. The decision was made to go after two schools that had consistent winning programs to beef up the ACC and that's why they went after SU & PItt. Andy Katz then mentioned how SU & Pitt want to move after next season, but refuse to pay more than $5 mil. The AD at Pitt feels the Big East will come around, because if they stay 2 more seasons, it will be too difficult to deal with the new teams as well as SU & Pitt. He feels the Big East will agree to just 1 more season with a $5 mil exit fee.

Theodore is having a wonderful game for Seton Hall right now. Controlling tempo and shredding the Friars to the tune of 12 assists with 10 minutes left. Really beautiful basketball to watch.

This Villanova - Rutgers game is setting basketball back 30 years... Both teams might like to go back about 30 years. Villanova was national runner-up 31 years ago. Rutgers made the Final Four 26 years ago.

Well my bracket has gone perfectly so far. Tomorrow I have UCONN, us, Louisville, and Villanova winning.

My favorite part of day 1 has been watching the concourse shots as they cut to commercial with all the drunk people.

I find myself rooting against all of the defecting teams, even though it means rooting for Conn today.

As much as I would like to see the Hoyas get another shot at SUcks and beat the child molester coached, women abusing, drug using Orange you gotta take emotion out of it and acknowledge the Hoyas have a better shot against UCONNvicts.

Could've just stopped after first sentence. This is one of the most laughable people on television right now--no matter what forum. Problem is-she's supposed to be a basketball analyst, not a comedian. I'm still shaking my head at her "better have that game on in production meeting" line yesterday referring to the UConn-ND womens' title game. Hey Doris--you want to see that--go call the game and leave the MENS tournament to MEN. She doesn't know the game. She has no idea about what is going on in mens sports or the reason her EMPLOYER was behind the encouragement of moving these teams to ACC (if you want to act informed--at least speak honestly) and the giggling/smitten crap with Jim Calhoun's behavior and lies (how many times do we hear of serious back surgery performed and a guy contorting and squatting on a sideline 4 days later? It's another mole that got lanced for Bubble Boy). The more pathetic thing-the males in national media continuing to act like she's a pioneer and great analyst. It's awful. Kind of like ESPN trying to say Womens' basketball was more fundamentally sound/better then the Mens' game and see how that turned out? Burke, McDonough--actually the entire 3 Amigos routine (I like Raftery and Bilas but hate when they work with McDonough-turns into an awful/predictable comedic routine for 2 hrs and McDonough will get on some topic that he feels should be changed and hammer that home and references to Raftery being a drunk, Bilas sucking as a player, etc...." just need to be put to pasture. I'd take Adam Amin and Fran Frashilla calling the entire BET over this crap.

Both WVU and UConn are playing well, IMO. I can see either beating Syracuse.
