Watching this UCONN/CUSE game and the thing that strikes me immediately is that those 50/50 block/charge calls that went against us every time, are being called against Cuse today.
Notre Dame with another win. They are playing really well right now.
WVU boosting their tourney resume as well.

West Virginia is killing us. Thought for sure they would beat Nd and Lville at home. We really can't avoid any slip ups to stay in the double bye spots.

Kevin Jones is really good at this level.

Does a team that has won 6 games straight in the toughest conference in CBB, two of which were teams we lost to, and four of which were against teams currently at the top half of the conference, fit into your "definition" of playing well kind sir?

As much I would prefer the WVU win for standings purposes, it would so fantastic if the two traitors - Pitt and West Virginia miss the tourney.

First, its not really a good sign when you have a close game against DePaul at home. Secondly, the Big East is down this year. How impressive your win streak is really depends on who you play and when. Two of their wins came against UConn & Seton Hall, both teams that are in free fall. They got two of their wins against teams w/o their best big man--they got Cuse w/o Melo and Marquette w/o Davante Gardner (not to mention Pitt w/o Woodall earlier this year). Pretty sure the Hoyas beat Cuse if Melo hadn't "cleared up" his "academic" issues, by the way. One of their wins is over DePaul at home in a close game. The win at West Virginia is a good one. So that's why I'm not that impressed with how they are playing. They're getting wins, but I wouldn't say they're doing so by playing all that well, so much as they are catching teams at the right time.

I dont disagree with all of what you said, just most. Anytime you reel off 6 straight in conference, unless you play in C-USA or something similar, you are playing well. Cuse without Melo is still very very good. @ WVU is always a tough game. Beating Marquette (#3 in BE and top 20 nationally) by almost 20 points, Id call that a quality win. The UCONN win, although not that impressive now, is still a win over one of the most talented teams in the conference. Seton Hall is pretty good too. Point being, regardless of how you want to diminish their streak, you won 6 games in the toughest conference in CBB. Is the BE down, sure. Is there a better conference top to bottom in CBB 2011-12, NO.

ND was horrendous today. They were lucky to be playing at home against the only team in the conference that cant take advantage of a team trying to lose a game.

UConn just can't seem to get over the hump, they've cut it under 5 a couple times and then let the lead balloon on them again.

Cuse-Conn outdid us attendance wise. 33-odd thousand in the place, most at a game anywhere this season.

Also the score doesn't do justice to how close the game was. Should have only won by 7-9 points, but UConn has bended over and given up in the last five minutes. Looks like their not even trying and Cuse still pushes the pace and is taking advantage of it.
Edit--Cuse puts in the small guys bringing up the team's collective grades with about a minute left.

UConn guards look like they are all jockeying to be Kemba. No flow whatsoever. i think they are done. Calhoun wont come back and with no tourney next year, cant see why Drummond/Lamb/Oriakhi coming back. Hell, Napier may try and leave too.

Did you watch the game dynasty? Because I did. ND is crappy. They can shoot 3s...no surprise there -- brey's teams dating back to the matt carroll, etc. have been able to shoot 3s. As usual you can carve up their defense and depaul did just that...thanks to some very questionable calls on DePaul including a T on Purnell, ND pulled away with about 5 minutes to go. I hope it comes down to our game with them for a double bye...we should beat them like a red-headed step-child. If we don't, we don't deserve a double bye and we can stop ripping on Mike Brey over JTIII for COTY...again.
We have the tie-break on Louisville so I am happy they beat those traitors today. LV still has to play the Cuse twice. Bottom line, we will control our own destiny with games against ND and MQ and there is no reason why we shouldn't finish 2nd in this conference at the end of the year. Just need to finish strong.

I guess he could be a late second rounder but the guy is averaging 6 pts and 5 rebounds. Drummond kind of sucks IMO. Not saying he won't be selected in the first 5 picks of the draft but doesn't have any discernible skills outside of 3 feet, isn't especially aggressive, doesn't box out, doesn't play defense and has an embarrassingly bad FT shooting stroke. Oh well...that's what the NBA does I guess...overrate and overpay based potential.

Dont know how you argue against it if they have won 6 straight. Did they play well today, i guess not. If you dont think Oriakhi would get drafted, you are crazy. He has size. Daniel Orton is on a roster. All I mean by that is that UConn is not attractive to return to. If he decides to come out, Id like to wager with you he gets on a roster.

Alabama suspended basically their entire starting 5 today prior to the LSU game so it might be a rough go for the team that was supposed to be our most impressive out of conference W.
