Today's game will help with next week. I thought Rutgers really employed the Pittsburgh model against us. Like Rutgers, Pitt is really struggling offensively though. I hope they get their first BE before then. Hopefully, tonight against Lville.

We always struggle against Pitt, and they'll be playing desperate. Especially on the road, I am very worried about this game.

Will be making the trip up to Pitt for this game. Let's get this W and put them out of their misery

We have to play a lot better than we did today. I doubt the game will be called nearly as tightly.

If we play against Pitt like we played today against Rutgers ... ugh, I don't want to think about it.
Just beat Pitt, Hoyas.

Of course we do need to play better offensively and Pitt could easily destroy us but this comment makes it seem like Pitt is a better team than Rutgers. Need to give Rutgers some more credit.

For what, committing 29 fouls or complaining about it afterward? Or the fact that we couldn't even hit the open shots? Rutgers played octagon ball and almost pulled it off. I don't care how bad Pitt is. They play us tough at the Zoo every year. Ok, ok, Pitt is hot garbage this year, I get it. Still, Big East road game against a coach who knows how to beat us.

I get your point. All I am saying is that we could just as well pull off an ugly win against Pitt by playing really good defense. And that Rutgers isn't bad at all.
Edit - and just so it's clear - I am not saying I think this will be an easy game. I fully expect a war.

Fair enough, wahoo. Rutgers has[/b] beaten a couple Top 10s, and Pitt lost to DePaul, so your point is also well taken.
Speaking of ugly, I fully expect our ugly game streak to go to 3 next weekend.

Throwing this out there--is it time to go to big starting lineup and bring Markel off the bench rest of year? He's had 1 great half (Louisville game) and a few moments here/there but out of he/Nate-who is getting far more scrutiny but has come on to play well the past few games, I'd rather see Starks off the bench-he's got to be pushed to keep his job and glad III benched him for Jabril late today. I like Markel and think he's got a lot of potential--and it could be due to having a concussion or just not feeling well but team has a week off and when III makes lineup changes-they usually happen when Hoyas have had time off between games.

Totally agree. I like Markel too, but we don't need his skill set as a starter. Give me Otto for the rebounding/length or Jabril for the defense and strength on the offensive end. Bring Markel off the bench and if he is shooting well, leave him in. Doubt it will happen in terms of a change to the starting lineup, but we may see his minutes going down further.

I think Starks situation will be treated much like the Lubick situation. He will continue to start but his minutes will be decreased in favor of Trawik/Whittington if his play does not improve. Starks ca hit the 3pt shot with a better consistency than Jabril or Greg at this point, but Jabril can get to the basket via the drive better at this time.

The old "I don't like to play them if they have a losing streak because they will break it against us" point of view... Setting the bar very low again, Jook? No lessons learned from the Rutgers game? ;D
