And when teams press us and we turn it over cause we don't have a steady ball handler then we'll wish he was on the floor. He has the best handles on the team and this week off will get him well.

At this juncture, I would be very surprised to see any changes in the starting line up. Jt3 has shown that he will give minutes where it's warranted ....doesn't matter who starts.

Who remaining on the schedule presses like DePaul did and I thought Hoyas were solid throughout the game with sloppy turnovers late in game--when it was decided. Also-who's to say you can't put a guy in if the other players aren't handling the press? Guards did well against DePaul for most part--it was Otto that struggled against press the most. Just seems like slow starts happen with Starks in the game and then one game he's not--the offense got off to a quick start. Now I'll take the opponent into account, but the reality is it's time to see some improved play from Starks or he should play even less.

Pitt has a home game against Providence on Wednesday, so they may not come in winless.

based upon the Ville crowd last night, this is going to be a tough atmosphere, the toughest since Bama. Hoya Blue, note the attendence by the PITT students. They call themselves the Zoo.

Markel is third in turnovers on the team and has more turnovers than assists, but yes he has a good handle.

Pitt was the first to try to disrupt the Georgetown offense with the bump and grab that RU played yesterday. If the refs let all those holding fouls go and we have another sub-par shooting game, there could be trouble. Looking for Jason and Hollis to bounce back for this one.

the to's come from passes not from being ripped. Yes, I agree. And I do like Markel don't get me wrong. But what he adds in my opinion is potential scoring, mostly threes. We have Jason and Hollis usually very capable of that. So I'd take another skill set on the floor like rebounding or defense to start a game. Then see how the game is going and make decisions about playing time for everyone, which I think JTIII has done a good job of this year. Markel's ball handling is nice, but he doesn't translate that into assists, so there's really no benefit to it - we've been the same against the press with or without him. He's also had some foul trouble this year and maybe coming off the bench would help him in that regard. But if it would hurt his confidence or team chemistry, just leave it as is I suppose.

Pitt looked horrible against L'Ville on saturday. They just cannot score any points. Woodall is not 100% and Gibbs can't get his own shot. Pitt also doesn't press alot so we should be fine if we make open shots and Hank gives us anything down low. Behanon and Dieng killed Pitt in the paint so I expect the same from Nate and Hank..................

yeah hia confidence aleady seems to come and go, so I wouldn't want him to sink any lower. Plus, we'll need him from time to time to get to the cup or sink some big shots. He needs to trust himself more and stop reachin on defense. Still don't know how much the concussion effected him either.

While a lot of the player's (Nate, Henry) turnovers come from dropped passes and just stupid plays, Markel seems to have a few that come from showboating and trying to be too flashy. I have a few in my head that I can remember, so I think he's very capable of passing to get more assists. I want him to start driving more for points to help get his confidence up, and also hopefully some dimes come with it. Regarding his driving, Markel has very good handling and i've read that he has very good speed as well. Why hasn't he been able to convert these into points or assists? Seems to have all the tools, just hasn't been producing as well as I'm sure he can. Gotta hope the kid gets out of his slump or whatever it is soon.

I am sorry but i do firmly believe that this game will be very difficult. They have talent, they will be at home, woodall will have a game or two under his belt. If they havent won a big east game by next sat., they will be very very hungry. This will be a winnable contest but only if we play very hard for forty minutes or more, play great d, hit some shots and some foul shots, play d as a team, and rebound lots. This will be no gimme. There are none of those in the Big East, and especially Pitt at Pitt with no Big East wins to date. So Go Hoyas, be really ready, war will break out next saturday in Pittsburgh and It Is February now.. Go Hoyas !

I think it's very clear almost every game in the BE is going to be tough.

I think it's very clear almost every game in the BE is going to be tough. This. I know pitt has been terrible this year. My head knows this, but my heart won't let me not be worried about this game. Gibbs is dangerous even if he's not great at creating his own shot. Woodall is back. He didn't play well in his first game against Louisville, but he'll have a week and another game under his belt before he plays us. They were much better with him in the line up. Nasir Robinson is a load. Gotta box out and keep Pitt off the boards.

Didn't Lic start talking normally once a year or two ago? Didn't it then lead to a major losing streak(Possibly the collapse of the 08-09 season)? Can it stop now before it gets out of hand and our whole season is destroyed? I much prefer his enthusiastic jumbled posts anyways. (Not that I didn't enjoy his coherent post, but this board just wouldn't be hoyatalk without lic being lic. It would be like if RDF didn't find something to criticize, or HSB was overly pessimistic, or Ranch Dressing was able to write a post without including which of our players are above or below Big East average. Hoyatalk just wouldn't be the same. )

He's got to play better and snap out of it. Nobody should be playing if they aren't confident taking the court. Maybe if he could last 4 minutes without picking up silly fouls from reaching/grabbing instead of moving his feet like the other players are doing, he'd be on court long enough to contribute. Had the "coddling" bullcrap the past couple of seasons and NO MORE of that. Time to step it up and play well or sit and watch your teammates do it.
