Does anyone else miss Vee? I can't help but feel he'd be a very helpful scoring option off the bench this season, especially given Markel's recent struggles. I remember at the beginning of last season, he'd come off the bench and almost automatically knock down a 3. His length on D would've fit well. Oh well, can't change the fact that he left, but I just think he would've been a big-time contributor for this team.

Many expected a tough game from Pitt - even a loss was possible. Pitt is much better than its BE record. However we did not expect a game where GU was not competitive. GU seemed to be totally unprepared to defend against Pitt's offense. Pitt did not shoot the lights out to win, as occasionally happens, they beat us by shreading the defense resulting in dunks and layups. The team is regressing badly (or not improving with the rest of the league) which has been a problem in past years. This league is very balanced with the exception of Syracuse (and without Fab they join the pack) so GU still has a chance to do quite well in the final standings but it is also possible to sink quickly with continued poor preparation. We have gone from a three guard offense last year to a one guard offense at times lately with Starks out quite a bit. It seemed our offense was slightly improved with Starks playing more in the second half yesterday although our defense did not improve at all. Right now these Hoyas are hard to watch.

Pitt is not better then BE record and proof was yesterday's game. If they were as good as some lead you to believe--the game would've been over by Halftime. They kept Georgetown in game and they turned ball over a ton-just don't notice because unlike Hoyas turnovers--opponents turnovers rarely--if ever lead to easy/fastbreak points.
They won by a dozen and had 2 role players go off on a 90% shooting clip and make their FT's too. That was courtesy of giving them open shots within 2 feet of hoop repeatedly and open court baskets. Other teams havent' done this--and low and behold--they kicked Pitt's ass. Pitt doesn't play good defense either--that is a fallacy--like Doris Burke still on hyping Markel Starks as a key factor to Hoyas success-despite that notion ended with 2nd Half in Louisville--but why stop "Diamond" Doris and her irrelevant commentary??

I think there is a chemistry issue like there was with Jessie and Chris Huh? Where in the world did you come up with this? I laughed out loud at that comment.

Pitt isnt better than their record, but i wouldnt be surprised if they end up 9-9 and in the top 60 or so of RPI. They have a pretty favorable schedule. I said it earlier, too, but I thought ND would end up being a pretty good team. They are now 6-3 and very much a threat in the BE picture. Our late season game with them could be huge.

Huh? Where in the world did you come up with this? I laughed out loud at that comment. I am having a good time with the trajectory of this thead, myself... Chemistry issues... Man, we miss Vee... These are awesome. Let me throw a few more out there... I think the key issue right now is the self-internal jealousy going on. Also, these guys are just not in good shape because of inadequate faciltities. Lastly, I blame the out-of-conference schedule, since it was much weaker than the in the past.

I thought he would have his own thread by now, but something must be going on with Starks. Since the Louisville game he has been woefully ineffective, especially on the defensive in. He tries to play defense by reaching and stealing ball instead of moving his feet. He always seems to have at least one foul on him before the first TV timeout. When you combine Nate's ineffectiveness. the Hoyas are playing 3 on 5 for the first four minutes of the game. The young man's confidence seems to be gone. Many times yesterday it looked as though he and Thompson could not get the ball out of their hands fast enough. They seemed afraid to drive and even more afraid to shoot the ball. Even though Otto did not have a good shooting game, he had the nerves to try to take the shot. Hopefully Otto.s handle improves for him to drive to the hoop. henry was more aggressive yesterday than the Rutgers game., but still too much fading from contact.

Wow just looked up the shot chart from yesterday.. Robinson and Peterson combined for 41 of Pitts 72 and 13 of their 15 makes were dunks or layups.. smh All off Robinsons 9 buckets were layups.. Ouch
Overall 16 of Pittsburgs 25 made field goals were dunks or layups.. Double Ouch
