Whitt just wants to win and his attitude towards our recruitment of Porter is evidence of this. While most kids would look at a higher ranked more celebrated recruit who has a similar skill set to yours as a reason to not go to a certain school (or decommit in this case) He actively helped in recruiting Porter and when we landed him welcomed him with open arms…
3 really hit the jackpot with this freshman class, but we knew this already.

Get him some milkshakes and a weight set. He needs to build up strength because he is super soft right now, part of the reason all his shots are short. Has hit some clutch threes, but he shoots 32% from the field and 29% from three (worse in conference play I'm guessing, but not sure). Fine for a freshman who contributes in other ways, but he needs to turn potential/hype into reality next year.

Two things that helped me between my freshman year n soph year.Out of all the freshman I think he will be the best scorer.. It may not look like it now but you can see he has a lot of ability inside and out and he’s definitely not afraid to get shots up.. He just needs to get stronger and learn his game.. I could see him putting up betwen 15-17ppg come his junior year. He has a scorers mentality and will be an impossible match up for teams once he figures it out.. Yes better than Porter IMO but not necessarily a better player, just a better scorer..

He is definitely not shy about shooting even though he should be at this point. You can see the potential but he has a lot of hours in the gym to put in before he realizes any of it (on offense).

Whit is a great player in the making. Like most of college basketball, we expect these guys to come in as freshman and be a complete product. Whit is the definition of a good freshman with the potential to be a special player for the Hoyas. He has the physical tools and the mentality to be really good, we all just need some patience . . . with all of our freshmen. Whit stands out to me because he is already a committed defender and has an aggressive approach on offense as well. That will serve him well when his body and ability catch-up to his mental approach.
I like all our freshmen, this group truly reminds me of the 2008 class and I expect the same accomplishments from this group. The talent is there, but what I am more impressed with is the mental approach. All have a composed, but intense demeanor on the court which you simply cannot teach.

It's pretty clear that Whit practiced a lot of 3s in high school and not much else. He short arms pretty much everything under 15 feet and he has not demostrated much touch around the hoop when finishing layups/drives.
But he has an intriguing quality about his game that makes me excited. He looks like he could get much much better.
This summer, it is weights, diet, and lots and lots of repitition from 15 feet in.

Two things that helped me between my freshman year n soph year.Roy may be the best thing to happen to Georgetown basketball in a long time. Having a guy like him talking to players like this while at the same time building his name at the NBA level is awesome. Obviously a great guy. And I expect Greg to make a huge leap next year. Right now, he's rarely if ever one of our top 3 scoring options on the floor. But when he is, and after a year of work, the dude will be dangerous.
