So there have been some rumors floating around about Max transferring to Georgetown. Anybody know more about this? I know he sat out last year at Harvard. I wonder why he's leaving and what his eligibility is.
Sounds like he could be valuable on defense. Many believe he would have more offensive success in a system as well.
What does everyone think?

I would take him in a HEARTBEAT...Long armed, athletic, smart, athletic, plays defense, athletic, hard nosed and better offensively than you think. He would be a very good get for us

I saw that in his second year at Harvard he averaged 3.3 points in 13 minutes. Yikes! If he is walking on that is one thing. Cant give this fella a scholly though.

I think he might have had a stronger freshman season than sophomore season to be honest. I believe he also had injury problems his sophomore year.
You're probably right though about the scholarship stuff.

About his game I'd love to have him, a plus athlete who can definitely guard the 1-3

If we are going to take someone this late, I'd only do it if the dood was a big, serviceable body who could play PF/C.
Not sure I'd allocate another schollie to a 2-3 tweener, when we already have massive coverage at those positions already in Clark, Hollis, Trawick, Bowen, Otto, Whit.
And with Kyle Anderson being our major 2012 recruiting focus, a guy who will probably rotate through the 1-2-3 positions if we get him, I'm not sure giving up another 2-3 slot makes sense right now.
Save the schollie. Max ain't getting run ahead of Clark, Hollis, Otto, and Trawick (and hopefully Kyle).

theoretically if he was to be a walk-on (like he would have been at Harvard) then why wouldn't you bring him in if he wanted to?

We do not have a shortage of players at the 2-3 position.
If he wants to walk on, then by all means roll out the red carpet. But I wouldn't throw a schollie his way.

Agreed Ranch, but we do have a shortage at the 1/2. As I understand it, Max played a lot of 1 for TOMBS this summer. And he could/would be a defensive specialist... something we could sure use and haven't had since Jeremiah.

agreed on not spending the scholie...
however devils advocate, if he is eligible right away this shouldn't hurt us with 12 or 13 recruiting as he will be done by then
still don't think that they should give him the scholie though...
in any case alot of smoke to this rumor...we will see what happens

A walk-on of his caliber would be fantastic. We know he had good chemistry with the freshmen during Kenner and provided energy/intensity. At 6'5", I could see him used for defensive pressure along with Jabril. He would not be competing for minutes v. Kyle.

Two points on walk-ons:
1. A recruited player becomes an NCAA counter regardless of whether scholarship money is offered.
2. Any Division I player beyond a freshman must have a year in residency before playing sports.
