Congrats to Jeff! (and his mom!)
Who would've believed that we had a BE (co) rookie of the year in our recruiting class?

Let me clarify - I'm Editeded he didn't win it outright.
But Congrats Jeff, you deserve all the praise in the world! Wish it could have been yours alone...

Congrats, Jeff!
I think it is nice they split it. I doubt Jeff cares that they didn't give it to him outright.

Gay had some very good games down the stretch - still didn't have the impact that Jeff did, but played for a better team - all the same old arguments - i think it is totally acceptable that they split it.

Congratulations, Jeff. We're expecting greater things from you next year. After the tourney, hit the books and the weights.

Is there any correlation between BE ROTW and BE POTY down the road? I've never seen any study of this on this board and would appreciated anyone's efforts to come up with something.

That's great for Jeff and he deserves it. Gay played well too, especially later in the season. The two HS rivals still battling it out in the BE.
I guess we can't let this pass without giving some kudos to Esh as well. Afterall, he brought him to GU. T3 also deserves credit for coaching him this season.

WAY TO GO JEFF! While I think that Green was certainly the MVP of the Big East rookies, Ray and Green contributed to their teams in different ways, and henceforth I must reluctantly admit that they both deserve the award!
Although I am not a big fan of giving out co-awards, previously I suggested that if Ray came on strong at the end of the season, and UConn continued winning, most likely both would get the award. And in this case, I can't blame the BE for giving out a Co-Rookie of the Year Award.
It is particularly appropriate because Gay played within a team concept on a more talented/experienced team, played less minutes, rarely forced things, and came on strong at the end of the year.
On the other hand, Green played huge minutes on a younger/less talented/experienced team, and showed Hoya fans and the greater basketball world that he was capable of carrying the team on his shoulders, at times. However, he was afforded this opportunity in part due to the lack of depth up front. Of course, I think he is among the best rookies I have seen play, not only in terms of ability, but in terms of maturity, poise, character, etc.
JEFF GREEN - KEEP UP THE HARD WORK. IF YOU WANT A CHALLENGE, WHY NOT BECOME ONLY THE SECOND FRESHMAN IN BE HISTORY TO WIN THE BET MVP!
LET'S GO HOYAS!!! BEAT SHU!

Yes, that is great for Jeff. Congratulations! Even if he didn't care if he won the BE ROY or not (quote by Jeff), he was more interested in wins. ;D

Congratulations to Jeff for being the biggest surprise of the year and the best Georgetown freshman in some time.
And for the record, I think the splitting of the award was fair. Jeff was more valuable to our team, but Gay played really well especially down the stretch, and had a successful team.

Well deserved Jeff! Great work.
Now prove to me how dominate you are tomorrow against the Hall. After that, secure yourself a space on the all BET team by dominating Gay...

We should not be mad about Rudy Gay, we should be happy for Jeff Green. That is a great accomplishment, and we should all give credit where credit is due, and mention that Craig Esherick, someone all of us criticized, and rightfully so, was the head coach who recruited Jeff.
Congratulations to Jeff and Rudy. Hopefully we will see them face off tomorrow night.
