Hoyaheaven said in the other thread that this was "another embarassing year" Two points: 1) How is 21-9(10-8) an embarrassing year? Before the season started, did you think we were going to do better than this??!!! Actually impressed overall with how this team has performed. If you want to see embarrassing, go back to our record from the 2003-2004 season: tinyurl.com/4hdtfkz2) The year is not over. Chris Wright will hopefully be back with the team in 2 weeks. However, I'm sure I'm not the only one on this board to say good riddance if you have decided to stop watching.

Whatever criticism I ever levied against Chris Wright, i humbly appoligise to the young man. This team might have LOST 20 game had he not played this year. the_way and Zo were correct JT3's recruiting had to change. Thompson, and Clark are set 3pt shooters only. I now officialy join the bench Clark bandwagon. He is killing this team. The Big Three has not been that since BE play started. Only 2 ofthe three showed up in the wins and whenever Wright or Freeman had an off night a loss was almost asssured. The last two games were the opportunities for Clark to standup and be Freeman's sidekick and he has failed miserably.

Losing 3 starters for next year's team is going to be scary... Hopefully, the incoming freshman can have a big impact, we're going to need it! A couple of them had better be able to start, or we will definitely be playing on Tuesday next year.

We would lost these games with Wright. Cincy was smacking us before Wright hurt his hand in the first game.
Do not use his injury as an excuse!

In the beginning the Hoyas were struggling for the simple fact there was no "true" point guard on the court. His name is Markel Starks! You cannot play this game without a point guard, that's just the bottom line. We'd better learn this now because if we don't we'll be one and done it's as simple as that. The Hoyas struggled for most of the first half, but when Starks came in the game the offense ran more smoother. His sharp cuts and quick thinking kept the Hoyas within 3 points at the time he went out of the game in the second half...When Starks left the game, the game left the Hoyas, it's as simple as that...Clark shoots two ill-advised 3's and all heck breaks loose...Once again, the Hoyas were right there, but made bad decisions all the way around! Catch my drift? RDF you feel me man, inbox me man :0)

That was an total embarrassment with or without CW4, no excuses at all. A week off to prepare for this game and we lose by 22, unacceptable. Glad I'm staying far away from NYC this week.

Honestly if Chris doesn't come back for the tourney it's not going to matter anyway where we're seeded. Chris may be able to get people shots, but he can't make those shots go in. We really have shot the ball poorly for quite a while now.; Exactly! JT3 had JC playing the point and we had 7 to against 6 steals. Clearly a bad move. Now JC and JV going a combined 1-14 that's on coach too. What's he thinking?!

We really have shot the ball poorly for quite a while now.; Alot of it is about getting wide open looks. Shots today are contested. You can't get open looks by just passing the ball around the horn. Wright is effective in penetrating into the middle of the defense and either finishing or kicking it out. The bigs are not skilled enough, or in Vaughn case (quick enough) to get open like Monroe/Hibbert so this makes Wright all the more important. Vaughn is effective 5 feet from the basket but he was getting the ball 10 feet from the basket because we don't have Wright. Everyone game is off without Wright this year.

I just want to know who the genius was who randomly started a thread a few weeks back about how awful Cincinnati is. That dude should be banned forever.
Anyway, this was bad. But the season ain't over. With Chris back for the big dance we still have a shooters chance of making a run, but i fear we're heading for a 7 or 8 seed.

I refuse to believe this season is over. Even though not having Wright is huge, we are also playing very tough defensive teams. Maybe this is the year we get the right matchup in the tourney. You never know. If Washington could get to the sweet 16 last year, I refuse to believe we cant.

I look forward to losing the starters, not because I don't like them individually, but because without them, we will have a very different team next year. The 3 starters who shaped the identity of this year's team was only good enough for middle of the pack BE.

From what I saw today, Thompson is going to say "Chris Wright is not walking through those doors" a lot next year. It's disheartening watching Cincinnati "out-Georgetown" us all day. They are what we used to be...rough, physical, and down right nasty on "D".

What did we work on with our week off? We looked slow, weak, and confused. That's what hurts the most. I really did not see any major changes from the first game in order to compensate for loss of Wright. With the lack of guys who can get to the basket, JT3 hands maybe tied. With that said I would have preferred the team lose by 20 while getting Starks the playing time that he needs to take over point next year.
