It is clear from his quotes that he is looking for playing time right away. Alford plays 9-10 every game. JT III will have to sell hard to overcome his recent tendencies togo with a short bench.

Hopefully he was playing a short bench because he did not have enough players he thought were good enough. No way JT3 in 2011 plays 7 kids....8-10 easily. If we cannot get this kid over the Lobos, I will be sad. It's closer to home, we won't guarantee him minutes, he's got a better chance of being a BMoC there, less strenuous homework there.... there are lots of reasons that we might "lose" a target to a seemingly lesser school that don't reflect badly upon our program.

This is surely incorrect. You must know by now that any time a recruit does not choose us, the only reason is because of a failure of the staff, and it reflects badly on the staff, the players, and the university. And let's throw in the Jesuits while we're at it.

Not worried about losing any particular kid from Texas or Southern California to schools like New Mexico, UNLV or SDSU. They are fairly local and whether we like to admit it or not they are rapidly rising programs (again) with proven coaches. I worry more about losing mid-Atlantic kids to other Big East schools, like Nova and the Orange. We have so much talent in the DC/MD/Virginai area that we should be nationally competitive every year if we are doing our job recruiting.

I didn't say i would blame the staff - I just said I would be sad not to get him. He sounds like a kid we could use.

My sarcasm wasn't aimed at you - it was just a general comment about the negativity we see when a player we've pushed for chooses a different school. There's nothing wrong with being sad about missing out on a kid. I was sad when Ochefu chose Nova.

This week New Mexico and next week the Hoyas--according to the Alb. Journal report last week. Still hearing rumors that SDSU is now involved.

Is the consensus of the group that Hoyas should take Porter over Henry if both want to come?

Is the consensus of the group that Hoyas should take Porter over Henry if both want to come? Who on this board has seen both play live as opposed to a clip on YouTube?

Read elsewhere that he won't be visiting New Mexico this weekend after all. Not sure what that means. Will be playing in the BallisLife All-Star Game tomorrow in Cali. For those who are interested: twitter.com/#!/JayIsDaGOAT
