I dunno. It just seems almost every year we have transfers. Not sure who initiates that in every single case either. But I do know that schollies are renewable annually.... at the Coach's discretion.
I will be very surprised if another schollie does not open up somehow. If not this year, then next.

No kid in the 2011 class has more bounce than Carson. Kid loves to run....not sure our system is best suited for him. Yeah, I can't see a kid that is going to Arizona State and Herb Sendek wanting to play in our system...

Kind of like a kid going to play for Sendek at NC State not wanting to play in Hoyas system.

If recruiting over kids is a crime then I am ok with it. And their is the crux of the matter. if we have to bend/break the rules and act without class and integrity with our own players in order to "compete", then sign me up for a middle-of-the-pack program. I think we can still compete, and compete well, the way we do it now, as long as we adjust our recruiting evaluations and goals as we learn. There is a big difference between "recruiting over" a kid and yanking a scholarship. Yes, when you recruit over someone they may decide to go elsewhere, especially if you make it clear to them that they will be in a fight for PT, and may very well lose PT to the new recruit. But telling a kid who has committed to your program, and who has put in the effort, that "I found someone better so we don't want you any more", IMO, is classless and is not the kind of program we should be. And I don't feel that it is JTIII's style.

Fighting for PT should be the standard here. It means there's plenty of depth and talent. The more, the merrier...

According to Reggie Rankin @ ESPN, Hoyas and New Mexico are the top two schools for the 6'8 forward from Dallas.

Jarion Henry, SF, Kimball: Talk about a guy who gives you plenty of stuff to digest during a game. A legitimate four-star talent, there isn't another player in the country who wears his emotions more prominently on his sleeve. At near 6-foot-8, he's an elite run-and-jump athlete with great quickness and length. He scored in the lane, spun past guys in the post and created havoc on defense with his long arms and knack for causing deflections.
that sounds awfully appealing right now, though.

Per NorthstarBball: Jarion Henry's top 5 are Hoyas, N.Mex, Oregon, Marquette and USC. His leaders are Georgetown and New Mexico.

According to this very recent interview (All-Star game taking place in Miami this weekend I believe - Jack Jones Shootout), Henry is being recruited by Kirby and we are in his top 2 with New Mexico. gohssn.com/?p=514Love the idea of getting this kid. We need more length and athleticsm.

Its a great thing if Hoyas are making move in Texas. Very deep, talented state.

Love it! Bring him in! This is type of player the program needs to start getting again--aggressive and self motivated. Not afraid to mix it up and tall wing--which is a great advantage if Hoyas are going to utilize their offensive approach but more importantly--it is on defensive end where it makes difference.
As for Coach Kirby/Hoyas getting into Texas--the Hoyas were also mentioned recently with Marcus Smart--a SG from Texas in class of '12. If you click on Henry's youtube clip on 1st page of thread and look to right--click on Marcus Smart putback dunk--you'll see the type of athlete that needs to be recruited again.
I like that Henry is listing Hoyas highly and the amount of options is increasing. Know we can't start rumors--but read between the lines guys--it's obvious that player movement will be happening and while some might get upset about it--it's needed.

So far Kirby has been making the most of his time with Georgetown. We need all of our assistants to be more like him.

Do they even get mentioned by any recruits? I've heard III, Kirby, and Pops more then I ever hear about Hunter or Brennan on recruiting trail.

To rdf's point regarding player movement, with the addition of Whittington and now quite possibly Henry, it looks like we may have recruited over Brandon Bolden. Regardless, I like the direction our recruiting is going by seeking these long wings. With the success of guys like pe2, Dajuan, and Jeff....it seems like something finally clicked with coaches realizing they néed to get back to size and athleticism.
As for available schollies, I say the sooner we get these kids ...the better. with a year or two under their belt....this team will be nasty!

No, unfortunately, it won't, because over the past couple of weeks we've learned: - JTIII can't recruit talent - JTIII can't develop talent - Georgetown doesn't get good athletes - Georgetown's system is too easy to recruit against and no good player wants to be limited by it We are destined to return to Esherickian mediocrity and doomed to mid-major status.

How would GU be recruiting over Bolden? He's a 4/5, really a Chris Bosh type. Plus he's a minute away, so I wouldn't worry about it until he shows up. I actually think this is what III should do; interchangeable, skilled kids that wanna compete and bring length to the floor.

Just thinking that with Henry, Whittington, Hopkins, lubick, Adams, ayegba, Hollis and Jerrelle....if we had room for a lone recruit in 2012...just seems like it has to be a guard.

Looks like we are targeting interchangeable players who have diverse skill sets. Has nothing to do with Bolden. If anything, it signals the transfer of a current player but I don't want to get into the land of speculation.
