where does he play next year.? Starks at the point, Jason at the 2 and Hollis at the three? Moses will be the big man off the bench and I think Aaron will be first off the bemch like PE 2.

Why are we so sold on Starky Love over Vee? Has Tony Starks showed much more than Vee?

agree, but why doesn't Vee come in when they are resting one of the starters. they bring in Starks generally when they rest Chris

Starks is more of a true point than Vee.

Starks seems to have the better handle than Vee, and it appears that the coaching staff is "all in" on Starks as the point guard of the future. Sanford is caught in a numbers crunch but I like what I've seen of him once he gets in the game. Hope he's patient and willing to stick things through to next year, he could be a major force. Would like to see him tighten up his handle and get stronger this offseason.

He definitely needs to tighten his handle because if he can be a serviceable primary ball-handler, the minutes are most definitely there. I don't think you plug in Bowen or Trawick to spell Starks at all next year. Vee has the opportunity to share sizable reserve minutes at the 1 and the 2. He just needs to keep putting in work.

Yea, especially with Clark at the 2. Need at least one guy back there who dribbles the ball below his chest.

Vee will be primary pg backup and primary sg backup next year. He'll get a ton of minutes and be a crucial player for us. And when we go 3 guard, it'll likely be Markel, Vee, and Jason. I think projecting minutes for Aaron or Trawick over Vee right now is way premature.

I'd rather have Starks out there if Chris is on the bench. We need his ballhandling. When Chris is out on the court, i'd rather see Vee out there as he is more of a threat scoring and is a better defender.

Starks is way better for what we need than Vee...Starks is a point guard, and a future all big east guy. I can't believe this is a thread every week. Vee isnt in the rotation. It's the way it is. Build a bridge and get over it. Jeez

KCHoya - been on this board for years with you. You might want to re-think your words. Carefully.

Okay to everybody else: the enigma is that he was playing and playing good minutes. He's our best defensive gaurd IMO. He's gone from 5-10mins to DNP in several games? He makes big shots, he makes defensive plays - yet freshman such as Lubick who make mistakes are out there learning on the fly. I don't questions JTIIIs rotation system because it's his team. I'm just real curious about it because Vee is one of the only "instinctive" players on the team. There's a difference between "instinct" and "skill"

As long as Freeman is in I'd rather see Vee replace Wright, since in those spots Austin ends up being the primary ballhandler anyway.
Starks is really struggling this year; he's one of the only players I've ever seen whose turnover rate is equal to his eFG%, and he can't play D yet. I really don't see how we wouldn't be better off this year with his 6 minutes a game going to Vee - but it obviously isn't going to change at this point.
We are basically committed to Markel as our starting PG for the next two seasons, so we better hope he makes a huge jump this offseason. If a few minutes a game will help him do that, it may be worth the small cost to the team this year.

Least favorite poster is organic arts ...What's up? What a stupid thread. Seriously, do we need the same thread every week? Nice gem of a post. For someone who likes to criticize the discourse of other posters, this just reeks of hypocriticism.

The reason Lubick is allowed to make mistakes on the fly is because there is no one better than him on the team at his position. Vee is in a position with a ton of depth. There is no way he will get minutes at the 1, 2, or 3 with a roster that has Wright, Freeman, Clark, Thompson, or Starks. Personally, I would like to see Hollis take a much bigger role in the offense especially if Freeman is not one. Thompson is the best natural shooter, can create his own shot, and shoots a high percentage. Hard to argue with III's rotation since he is 8-1 in his last 9.

At first I started a post to speculate that Sanford throws it up too fast and maybe that is why he doesn't play. But he shoots about once every four minutes, which isn't much more than other players, and he is shooting over 60% from three off a decent size base. Further that shot he against Nova will go down as one of the bigger shots of the season in terms of stabilizing the team at a huge time.
At this point though, probably more fun to go through history and name everyone's "Favorite player who you wonder why they didn't play more" throughout Hoya history.
Mine was Ronnie Highsmith. He could jump out of the building and could seriously ball but rarely if ever got sustainted time. If Hoyatalk had existed - heck, if the Internet had existed - I would have started "Ronnie is my favorite player . . . What's up?" threads every couple of weeks.

Vee can play--hope he stays/plays next year---but this isn't time of season to worry about the roster--focus is on finishing strong--and everyone is needed when called upon. Future will take care of itself!
