why do we always assume if someone is off or if they don't play there has to be something else going on?
it's been obvious III was never going to look Vee's way a ton this year (not saying that's right/wrong, personally the kid HAS earned some time). But, His performance against Pitt didn't help his chances going into today to gain trust.

May also be a factor that Vee did not look very good against Pitt and may have lost a little trust. Please, Benimon has not had a good game all year and he gets minutes. Vee did not look sick, but there has to be some off the court issues(illness, books, decipline, etc.) going on. Good is strong, but Jerelle has at least had a couple of decent games. The bigger difference is that Vee is plays a position where he is fifth on the depth chart for something between 2-3 positions, and the guys ahead of him don't need a lot of time out of the game. (You could make an argument for him over Markel -- but it's obvious Thompson trusts Markel more when Chris is out of the game for whatever reason -- handle, decision-making, whatever). Jerelle is also fifth on his depth chart for 2-3 positions (bigs plus the mixing with the three) but none of the guys ahead of him stay on the court as long, either because of conditioning, fouls, etc. I'd like to think that's it. Because otherwise I'm with you.

Its a numbers and need thing.
Vee's position is Clark's position. He is not going to see much time if any behind Clark. If Wright is sent to the bench, Vee won't get his minutes. Either Freeman will slide to the guard spot or maybe Starks will see some action.
With Benimon, a good game for him is to bang around on the inside and don't turn the ball over much, get a few rebounds if you can and, as a last resort, do your patented back-to-the basket spin for a layup move. Mostly he is in an "enforcer" and a guy to spell Nate, Hollis and keep bodies off of Henry and Vaughn in the middle.

Vee Sanford will get his minutes next year as the first guard off the bench behind Clark and Starks. Maybe we want him to play more now, maybe III doesn't. It doesn't matter. He's always been a contributor when he's been in the games, but I trust the staff to know when that is. (Yes, trust the staff even when we're 2-4. I do.)

No, shoots because he's left wide-open most of the time. BE coaches are ignoring him.

Starks actually passed up a wide open shot in the first half against Rutgers, which I think he should have taken. We ended up swinging the ball around to Freeman, who had a decent look (which he missed). I don't mind Freeman taking that shot, but I'd like to see Starks shoot when he's that open. This isn't Jeremiah Rivers we're talking about.

I'd rather Freeman take that shot 100 times over starks. Our best player needs to get up 20 shots a game.

Obviously I'm not privy to the info the staff has but it's impossible not to second guess them here after the d we've seen out of our guards.

If Jason Clark isn't making shots, well..the difference between he and Vee shrinks even more.
had no problem not seeing him against RU, tonight..I would have liked to have seen him.

Yeah, agree with allen. Vee's defense > Jason's defense. Vee's offense < Jason's offense. But if Jason isn't clicking on offense, then I don't see the need to play him 35 minutes. Give him 30, give Vee those 5 extra minutes and see if it helps the both of them.
Jason just ain't right right now. Had a wide open three that he clanged off the backboard. I don't know where his confidence was. Wasn't too long ago anything inside of 25 feet was in range.
