It scares me that you know this. Going on to more controversial material, that aspiring ballhog at uconn is right, keemo is a bit too into himself. I can already see the grimaces on Bilas' and Digger's faces when, at the end of the year, they go to talk about player of the year and somebody says "what about keeemo?" By then he will be a footnote, leading scorer who couldn't spell team. That being said, I think we might have seen something similar had chris been given 100% control/green light as a frosh or maybe even soph. He has matured and grown so much at GU that it is easy to forget he might have liked to be a one man-show or at least garner a lot more personal attention. fortunately for all of us he took the hoya path instead. Not a game of interest per se, but Channelsurfing.net actually posted a video feed this afternoon between Dickinson (PA) and Radford. The wide-angle camera shows all of 15 people on the entire home side of the stands.

I don't know, seaweed. That seems somewhat harsh. Kemba plays a totally different role for UConn. My guess is that he is instructed to be the "ballhog", as you call him, for his team. Kemba is surrounded by less talent and experience than is Chris. UConn depends on him for scoring far more than we depend on any one player. I'm just not sure that the description of Walker "as a bit too into himself" is accurate.

Would absolutely relish and cherish another UConn implosion this season. I'm hoping they implode right after Austin drops another 30 on them in one half again.

it was definitely harsh and I don't say those things lightly. i would not be critical except to point out that chris has become a very different type of player, much more to scouts liking as has been pointed out elsewhere.
i was very close to putting an asterisk or something in on my post with regard to surrounding talent but you are 100% correct - Chris has always played with better guys than keemo has now. I believe it is a self-fulfilling prophecy though, keemo being a ball hog and calhoun saying "well, ok - it beats trying to develop these other schmucks. and beats enough teams to ride my rep for another year. now somebody get a freshman to shovel out my saab"

Beating St.Johns may be tough. I don't think WV is great, but they had their way on the glass and got to the free throw line.

Stanford takes Maya Moore out of the game defensively while Jeanette Pohlen plays a tremendous all-around game in dominating UConn wire-to-wire.

And again, ESPN disappoints by conducting their first post game interview with the LOSING coach. That network is a complete joke sometimes.

That network is a complete joke sometimes. I liked Tara Vanderveer's comment to Jimmy Van Dykes in response to the first questions that were also all about UConn... (paraphrasing) "today was about Stanford." She has more class than Gino ever will. There's no way any losing coach should have allowed himself to be the first one interviewed after a loss like that, but Gino's narcissism would never permit him to consider the possibility.

Thought the exact same thing. She was very gracious and then her final comment was like, enough already, you know Stanford, won the game and we should really be talking about Stanford.

Louisville didn't look so hot today.
Seriously what in the world is going on with Tennessee? I thought they were one of the best teams in the country a few weeks ago.

USF looks awfully tough inside. I think Gilchrist has NBA 1st round potential. Kemba already limping around 1.5 games into the BE season. We'll see if USF loses composure and boneheads this game away.

Actually a 1 January game, but Syracuse took iit to the ND'ers today. Syracuse appears to be the class of the BE, along with Pitt.

Annoyingly Cuse does look like they've put it together after struggling in the early going.
St.John's playing at Providence right now on MASN up 6 with 10 to go. Glad they're not going to be getting more rest than us.
