Wow, I knew Uconn was way over-rated at #4, but I watched that game until almost the end and UConn was clearly outclassed from the tip. It was not so much Pitt played flawlessly but that Uconn has nothing on offense outside of Walker. There is not a second option. I just do not like that they are so unbalanced and reliant on one player. If Walker goes off they can beat anyone, but as tape accumulates for opponents and coaches realize who they do and don't have to defend, that team is in big trouble. I can easily see them finishing something like 10-8 in BE and being irrelavant come march.
As for Pitt, exactly what I expected to see.

I've only seen Walker a few times this year and I am really impressed. He may have shot 10-27 last night but it certainly didn't 'seem' like that. I know this is high and undeserving praise but he did remind me of A.I. at points. The issue with UConn is they literally have no one else right now that can help them out on the offensive end.

Kemba missed a lot of open shots. UConn is going to be not good when that happens. How often will that happen? will Napier, Lamb and Smith step up?
Pitt was good but not great last night, but I didn't see anything to make me think they aren't the BE frontrunners.

Kemba has a bit of AI in him (like the 10-27 from time to time). UConn is going to have some problems but if Kemba continues his decent shooting (last night excluded), they're going to win some games they shouldn't. I don't think they'll have a prayer of beating a team like Pitt at any point this season even if Pitt doesn't improve. Just a horrible matchup for them.

DePaul is just awful. My Big East sickness has me watching some of this game. I saw them earlier in the season against Oklahoma State.
It's hard to get a feel for how good Cincinnati is because of their opposition right now.

It's weird to watch a Syracuse game and not have ESPN's cameras show Leo Rautins in the crowd every 30 seconds.

Providence could have won that game if they wanted to play any kind of defense....The brand of ball PC plays is just horrendous, they can score but they have no desire to stop anyone.

Providence actually hung tough there. too bad they weren't able to pull it off.

Providence made some nice shots but beyond that they weren't playing a very disciplined game. However, they are really young. They have 9 true frosh and (I think) 11 first-year players. Maybe they will be better in a few years.
Syracuse, however, is itching for a loss

Providence could have won that game if they wanted to play any kind of defense Providence could have done a lot of things in the past two decades if they wanted to play any kind of defense. If Notre Dame doesn't pick off Syracuse on Saturday, I don't see it happening until the Pitt-Nova back to back Jan 17/22.

Providence D consisted of trappign at half court, and letting syracuse have 3-2 breaks after they threw over it. there center Dixon is 6-8 and cant really leap. When they played the Zone in the half-court they stopped them when they tried to stop penetration. Southerland for Syr is the X factor for that team. if he plays like he did last night they will be that silly term "scary good"

Bear in mind that CJ Fair is on the rack now, and he was starting IIRC before he went down. I don't know when he'll be back, but he's another dimension to this SU team. Agree wholeheartedly that Sutherland is the X factor.

Coombs-McDaniel also came in against Pitt, took a ridiculous three-pointer he had no shot of making early in the shot clock, and airballed it.
Calhoun sat him immediately.

Would absolutely relish and cherish another UConn implosion this season.

Not a game of interest per se, but Channelsurfing.net actually posted a video feed this afternoon between Dickinson (PA) and Radford.
The wide-angle camera shows all of 15 people on the entire home side of the stands.
