ugh seton hall chokes away another game to an A-10 opponent. Lost both games Dayton and now richmond in the last 5 minutes. I know they're missing Chucky McChuckerson but they have to close out games. No NCAAs for the pirates this year. Much as they should have never run off Louis Orr, they're now paying the price for running off Gonzo. They are not the same without him, and the BE is worse off in his absence.

So what's better for us--Temple beating Nova or vice versa?

I'd say temple. It'll get them back into the polls for good if they win. Nova will still be ranked after the loss. Makes our only loss look very good.

Dixon canceled Christmas for his players?!? Wow, if they don't beat Uconn tonight, someone should cut his heart out with a spoon.

They're so tough and gritty, they don't need Christmas.

UConn will be exposed and embarrassed tonight, making it finally possible to go outside again here in CT. OK, in fairness we stayed inside due to snow, but still, they suck and I need Pitt to show what we know

I think I'm rooting for UConn tonight. I think Pitt is more likely to contend for the BE Regular Season Title. I'm hoping they start off with a loss.
I need a shower.

I want both teams to get into a fight with massive injuries. Then I want the roof to collapse.
It's definitely one of those win/win games where it doesn't matter too much one way or the other who wins. Either way I hope the Hoyas jump the loser in the polls with 2 wins this week.

Uconn is very lucky to only be down by 9. If they could get a defensive rebound and hold on to the ball when they touch it, this would be a blow out right now.

I still have my questions about Kemba Walker singlehandedly carrying this team throughout the entirety of the season, but he is going to give us fits. I'm not sure we're quick enough to check him on the perimeter. We'll have to be very good defensively as a team to contain him.

Is anybody actually surprised that Pitt is winning this game? Much better team.

UCONN is not good.
Kemba 10/27 for 31 points. Why is that considered good? How many points would AFree get with 27 shots? 45 points?

Is anybody actually surprised that Pitt is winning this game? Much better team. Only some idiots on the main college basketball board for Rivals.com who thought UConn would win and walk away with the Big East. If you go to ESPN and look at Pitt's numbers in the four main categories that the ESPN site keeps tabs on (rebounding ranking, points ranking, assists ranking and shooting percentage ranking) Pitt didn't seem to have a weakness, especially compared to UConn. No way was Pitt going to lose to a squad whose only weapon is a second-rate Iverson.

That game definitely played out the way we all expected. Pitt is a better team, even if Walker is extremely good. UConn definitely looked like a one man team tonight.
I'm just saying, purely as it relates to us, we're going to have a tough time guarding UConn. They're of course going to have a miserable time guarding us. But I don't see Jason being quick enough to stay with Walker an entire night. He's the kind of guy that a Roy team would dismantle because you could overextend on the perimeter and funnel him into Roy. But given that we don't have that kind of defense on the interior, I'm worried he will singlehandedly make our game with them pretty tense.

Idk, Pitt didn't look all that great to me tonight either. So many missed wide open lay-ups and shots and gave up too many unforced turnovers and bad rebounds. Good solid team, but I thought it was more a question of Uconn just being bad than Pitt being world beaters.
Also, I'd love to see the comments if one of our players was smiling in a loss like this the whole game like Walker. Also, as long as you make Walker work for his shots hes not a great outside shooter and just don't foul him when he drives and keep him off the line. Obviously he's going to get his points, the trick is to keep him from being efficient. 10-27, 3-11 from 3, 3 turnovers to 2 assists is not efficient, and Pitt did a good job as a team guarding him. Considering how poor their defense has been this season(91.1 DE according to kenpom compared to our 92.1), there maybe some hope for us still.

Pitt is really good. They are a solid, veteran team. Tough competition in the Big East.
