I thought the same thing MetsHat. Reminded me of 96 and Ray Allen's lucky shot.
Not to take away from our team tonight, i think we played our hearts out, but how are we gonna let D butt get the ball with 9 seconds left. I dont care if you have to put 2-3 guys on him. Make someone else beat us for god sake!!! Don't let butler get the ball!!!!! and why was monroe garding him???

seeing spike decked out in georgetown gear and going nuts from courtside can't hurt recruiting either.

I will be haunted by butler's shot for a long time...just like ray allen's lucky shot i think in 96 I was thinking the same thing......but didn't have the stomach to bring it up.

Apologies to anyone who I have run into on the last half hour. Yeah, it's a pretty low feeling right now and I cannot help but be really steamed over this, but rather than take up additional bandwidth, I'll vent via e-mail. this is a bizarre post. I can see being disappointed by the outcome, but angry? That was a great, gutty performance by our kids against one of the best teams in the land. Sheesh.

It was a well designed play by Huggins to get the ball in the hands of his best player. And he made a great shot with two hands in his face.

It's not easy to prevent him from getting the ball without leaving someone else wide open. They forced Butler into a really difficult shot and he got lucky that it bounced in. I'm not going to be upset about that.

Why let a guy that has won like 6 games at the buzzer get the ball. Let some chook like muzzolu take a shot. Come on.

He's a great player and WVU is good at designing plays for him.

Why was he open last night and why was Evan Turner open.

He got the ball far from basket, we forced him middle he made a tough shot with three guys draped on him. Not much else we could have done.

onto next week!

I agree - why do you constantly have so much sour grapes towards the team? My post did not say one thing about the team or the game--for all you know I was stuck at the train station tonight. So if you have a problem, e-mail me; otherwise, leave the conspiracy talk for someone else.

Maybe the mods should move your post to the right place? Just kidding. Tough loss makes people act strangely

Back from the Garden. I thought the Cuse game was really entertaining, but this was probably better (except for the fact that we lost). One of the best Hoya games I've attended besides the UNC Elite Eight game and maybe beating Ville to win the regular season title (again, this sounds weird since we lost and I didn't think we played that well).
Thanks Hoyas for an amazing week of ball. I hope the guys use this week as positive momentum going forward. We are no lower than a 3 seed (and could get a 2 seed) so it will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.
Don't want to be too negative about this loss but we got killed on the offensive boards and our 3pt shooting was bad (until Austin starting lighting it up at the end). Also, I thought Greg was ineffective for most of the game (props to WVU's defense as well). Chris had another great game. Wasn't too sure about some of the substitution patterns (for example, after Hollis hit his 2nd 3 of the night - and he was the only one making them at that point - he was taken out of the game). Again, not going to quibble, but I REALLY think we are a better team that WVU.
