Is there really any way we win this game? We'd have to play defense. I'm not sure this team does that anymore.

Sanford plays defense and offense. Sounds like a starter to me

If we end up 9-9 it's possible we play on Tuesday, isn't it?

I'd feel better about Saturday's game if: a) Austin and everyone else not currently at 100% is healthy, and b) Sanford takes most of the minutes from JB and HS. Neither is a given, so I'll continue to worry until then.

I say we win it. Not because I think we'll come out any differently. I just think Cincy can't shoot and whether we close out on their shooters or not, they'll miss.

How freaking sad is it that we're debating whether we'll beat effing Cincy? What happened to this team?
Deja vu all over again.

Win and let 10-8 speak for itself. Still a decent chance to end up in 6th place, which is huge difference from 7-9 given the matchups. Win!

Its not sad at all, and I would be debating whether we would win this game one month ago, two months ago, three months ago. Cincy isn't a bad team, they are a bubble team at worst and likely in the tournament. If you ever thought Cincy was going to be an easy win, well, you are the one that had the problem.

We will win this game. 10-8 isn't great given what it could have been had we not blown games to RU and USF, but I think we will remember this season a bit more fondly in retrospect.

I know I said this literally a week ago wrt L'ville, but: Biggest Game of the Year. Absolute must win. If not, I feel like we're risking an 8 seed. And not in the BET. Really gotta hope Austin is good to go and itching to come back in style. I really haven't seen Cincy much at all, but in any case, does that even matter? Coach always says "it's not about them, it's about us." Never more true than with this team. We really need this one.

All the feel of last year's St. John's game.

Despite all the negatives the last 2 weeks(L'ville being the exception) we win this game. Austin has 4 days to heal, as do the others who may have been less than 100%. We are at home, and we will finally give full effort the whole game. May not be pretty, but we WILL get it done.

When the role of Austin Freeman is being played by Hollis, who I love don't get me wrong, but who barely even dribbles the ball, why is so hard to believe that we are going to be a woeful team? There are times where we have to play with a guy who doesn't dribble (Hollis) and a guy who doesn't dribble or shoot (JB). Guys, we just aint good without Austin.

Question: What do we do if Austin is still sick and his illness has completely spread to the rest of the team? Could we possibly be facing Cincy with Austin, Greg, Julian and Vee out? Or worse? Just something to think about...
On the plus side maybe we infected some WVU players and some rests so whatever Austin has will spread through the rest of the Big East just in time for the BET.

Not only is this the biggest game of the year for our team, it is for our fans as well. If our fans (at least the ones in DC) are worth their salt at all, they come out rocking for this game, the way they did for Nova and for Duke. And they keep that energy level going throughout, so our guys can feed off of it. They need the fans more in a game like this then they do in a game like Duke.
But, somehow, I have a hunch it won't be like that. Hope I'm wrong about that.
