Remember: ESPN is in Connecticut and it sure seems about two thirds of their staff went through the sports broadcasting program at Syracuse. It matters in the cubicles in Bristol.

Actually Rivalry Week got a few unexpected duds, with UNC and UConn being so bad and Texas not obliging their near-constant promotion of tonight's Big Monday doubleheader as a dual Top 10 showdown.

Texas reminds me so much of UConn. If you're dumb, and run, and basically make it a game of athleticism, they can play with you and beat you.

To add to the fun, we made T shirts that read "thanks for the memories... of kicking your AS#!" on the back along with a picture of a hand crushing an orange which we calmly unveiled in the final few minutes so the thousands of Cuse fans sitting behind us could enjoy. Hubert Davis contradicted himself within five minutes during the halftime of the Kansas-Texas game. He chastised Barnes for playing 11 guys in the first half (actually he only played eight) and said for the 100th time that Texas needs to settle on a rotation of seven players. Then a few minutes later he said Villanova was a Final Four favorite because it can get scoring from its bench and because it gets contributions from eleven good players every game.
