I don't recall any book being introduced that's created as much of a stir as Sarah Palin's book. Today's Washington Post has five articles written about it. After her interview on Oprah Winfrey, numerous TV programs were devoted to post mortems on the interview (e.g. Hardball). Love her or hate her the country is fascinated with her; she is a phenomenom, a superstar.

She is a friggen moron and to the extent that she is a "superstar" it is a horrible indictment of our national political and celebrity-obsessed culture. She is HORRIBLE for the prospects of conservatives hoping to get back the White House. She makes Mike Huckabee look like an outstanding national candidate by comparison. The Obama team has to be salivating at the prospect of her continued rise.
Much like Harriet Miers and the Suprem Court, if you drew up a list of the 500 people most qualified to be president, she wouln't be on it.

If I'm honest, I think even I might be sick of Sarah Palin by the end of this week.

People disgustedly watching her in the hopes that she finally says or does something so bad that she has to crawl back into the hole she came out of DOES NOT make her a "superstar" by any stretch of the imagination.

Lindsay Lohan was once a superstar, too.

When I read the title of this thread, I thought it was going to involve Sarah Palin sticking her hands under her armpits and smelling them (when she gets nervous).

LOL. ;D I thought easyed was blaspheming and comparing her to Jesus Christ. My two cents: super hot, but not a super star. Unfortunately, a lot of things in our society have become disposable, and she is no different. Her 15 minutes of fame have lasted longer than most, but she will be forgotten soon enough.

Hmmm, that part I am not sure about, CA.
I don't think she's a Presidential candidate, as I have said in other threads, but I don't think he political impact is as ephemeral as some would like to believe.
She will be around in 2010 and 2012. She probably won't be running, but she will be a fairly powerful influence maker.

I seem to recall the Left in this country describing somebody as an "amiable dunce". Who was that? It will come to me soon I'm sure.

The Associated Press has over 4,000 writers, and 10 of the 11 just "studied" her book to the extent that they fact-checked aspects that they had already researched for purposes of earlier articles. It's not like 75% of the AP's staff was sitting around reading word-for-word. I do feel bad for the AP writers, though. I can't think of a bigger waste of time than reading this book or writing about Sarah Palin.

When will Ed cut the first Sarah Palin as celebrity ad?

As a Democrat, I love seeing Palin on the front pages. After all the help she gave us in 2008, I'm really looking forward to her running in 2012.

Jon and Kate are Superstars as well. It's not much as an endorsement.

there is no bigger superstar (nor emptier suit) than the Apologist in Chief, Barry O. And there's no party emptier of ideas than the GOP - "In Sarah We Trust"

The difference is that the GOP has Palin as an option. You have the Apologist in Chief as a disastrous reality.

Superstar, indeed. Just take one of today's brilliant quotes from Sarah:
If anyone can learn anything from it: it shows why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, gender, or color of skin.
Up until now, I had not known that books could have genders or skin colors. Hers is a dizzying intellect.

Sometimes I think Palin exists only so liberals can make fun of her in an attempt to make themselves feel smarter
