Tonyparker, yes but look what has happened since then. First, I think he was turned off to some extent by our perceived softness the past few years and our failures in the tourney. We look much different now. As for his other 4 choices, well UCLA is out. St. John's is now a complete debacle so I gotta think they are out. A lot of the shine on Seton Hall was hope with a young coach and emerging prospects but they've only gotten marginally better, their best 2 players by far will be gone next year and they haven't signed any good recruits. So unless he wants to be surrounded by little talent, I don't see it. Florida is still viable but if it's a 2 way battle with Florida, I like our chances.

I believe Kyle has been quoted as saying, or it is widely believed, that of his final four/five we were in last place. So I think even if he de-commits, he ain't coming to the Hilltop. Nah that was the Seton Hall Blogger and Zangoria.. That sounds pretty suspect to me. No reason for a kid to publicly state how the runners-up did against each other. He might, however, indicate to everyone he talks to (and talking to Zagoria is basically talking to St. Johns) that their school came in second.

FIT is more important and too many kids fall in love with an aspect that doesn't fit. It's why 40% of D1 recruits are transferring by their Soph year. They think with heart instead of their head when it comes time to select a program. And this is the exact reason why I wouldn't write off the decision of a 17-18 year old kid who made a bad choice that a TON of good kids make when they are young. So he may have chosen a program that he didn't fit in, I don't think that necessarily means means he was star struck by NBA players, wanted the bright lights, is an overall poor decision maker, or won't try should he ever go anywhere else. We have no idea of his overall motivations and/or how the UCLA coaches and university portrayed themselves during his visit. (Disclosure: I haven't read much on him after he committed so if he has said these things publicly or through social media then my point is...well....pointless) I do agree though that if he didn't meet many current players or practice with them then it was a rushed and dumb decision. However, I see no problem with taking him should this be true and the coaching staff still wants him.

If he de-commits (not likely to happen), I bet he looks at Georgetown hard. Not sure he has parents who are heavily involved, but if they are and control things to a degree, the selection criteria may swing to the opposite end of the spectrum.
Never say never. We wanted this guy more than anyone (except for Nerlens) a couple months ago.

Sounds like an ideal situation if you don't want to be held accountable and can do whatever you please.

Well, his parents don't seem to mind. Which is why I couldn't care less about this kid. I mean none of the Andersons got any sense of the problems going on at UCLA when they went there? They were just too busy basking in the sun or something? Uh-huh. Let Kyle stick with UCLA and have him and his ego carry that program on his back.

Hate to pour salt on the wound but this kid is going to be incredible. Would've been perfect for JTIII's offense.

It's amusing to me that whenever a recruit we really want chooses a different school that, somehow, dirty tricks must be involved. Could it be that the kid just wanted to go to the school he chose?

It's not amusing, it's pathetic.
