Did you know this ID?
The Tigers had a major built in advantage as assistant coach David Patrick is the godfather to Simmons, and obviously has a very close relationship with the family. The presence of Patrick definitely played a key role in Simmons landing at LSU.

No, but that doesn't means bag$ weren't given out; i'm skeptical and I'm sure you're correct and the family connection made have made it even more possible. I'm not questioning your knowledge or info.

I think the football schools will most of the time have some advantage in BB recruiting. Just be glad that this young man is attending college and fulfilling his dream to play big time basketball.

but how much of a football school is UCLA? UCLA is a the most storied hoops program in history. I don't think that football played a role in this one. Schools like Alabama, USC, or Texas can showcase that, but it hasn't translated into NC's.

Just signed to a bigger contract ($37mm) than Jeff Green ever did in his career. Not bad for a guy who averages 4.9 pts per game in his NBA career off bench!

Weird comparison given what has happened to the salary cap over time... but yes congrats to Kyle I guess?

Why the Green snub? Not necessary to make your point.

When Jeff was younger in his prime contracts like that didn’t exist for players of that level. The money in the NBA is crazy now.

I think Jester used Uncle Jeff as a comparison because he just signed a contract. Also Jeff is still a better player than KA.....crazy how teams pay for potential...KA is young and may boom but Jeff is what he is at this point in his career.....

Pretty sure Jeff was destined for a bigger deal than KA until his severe health issues popped up. Hell, it was just 2 years ago that Jeff got a 1 yr $15M deal with Orlando. No team was ever going to commit to him with a long term deal post heart surgery, and I can't say I blame them.
