We already have more "quality wins" than several teams projected to be in the tournament. The problem is the sheer number of losses, even though only one (maybe 2) can be qualified as "bad".

The problem is the sheer number of losses, even though only one (maybe 2) can be qualified as "bad". that's my point - people keep looking at our record and saying we need to win the BET championship. We don't because of the quality of wins we already have piled up. We're not Depaul here. Here is cnnsi on our hopes - they seem to think it takes 4: Georgetown (16-13, 7-11; RPI: 40; SOS: 1) finished at 7-11, but the Hoyas actually have the Big East tournament draw that looks most conducive to a surprise run. First, they must handle St. John's at the Garden, a task they failed to complete last week. If they beat the Red Storm, they get reeling Marquette before a possible quarterfinal with Villanova. If the Hoyas pop up in the Big East tourney semis, is there any chance the wins over UConn and Memphis and the SOS can carry them? They'd probably need at least one more upset win.

Well thats rather shortsighted. If we played South Florida instead of St Johns, then we would have to face Syracuse then Uconn. I don't know who in their right mind would trade playing St Johns if it meant playing struggeling Marquette team and Nova instead of a surging Cuse team and the number one team in the country. If we can't be St Johns the second time around, I am not sure how well we would have done against South Florida either. Not sure how much Marquette is "struggling" - yes, they've lost 4 in a row, but three of those losses came to possible 1 seeds in the NCAA tourney. An OT loss at home to a good Syracuse team is not necessarily an indication that a team is collapsing. And after watching both that game and ours against DePaul over the weekend, I'd say they're still much, MUCH better than the Hoyas. The way this team is playing, there wasn't ANY scenario that would amount to a "favorable draw." I'm trying to be optimistic, but I'm having a very hard time seeing this week extend past Wednesday (and I'm not even sure we get that far). Ugh Anytime you lose 4 in a row, especially when you were ranked in the top 10, your struggeling.

Guess we didn't quite make that run to the finals. Only missed it by four games.
