Does anyone know whether or not you need to have the senior bracelet to sit in the senior section. I, along with many other senior never got this bracelet and wonder whether i will be restricted from the first five rows.

First off, there is no way in hell the first 5 rows are being reserved for seniors. If they try any crap like that there is going to be major trouble.

yeah god forbid you would have to give up your front row seat for one night in favor of a tradition. Im not even sure if that is a tradition as I dont remember that from my senior year, but chill out dude, anything that will get more fans in MCI is worth it.

Harbin, you didnt know? Someone died and then the fan fairy came and made all these people the keepers of the front row. Any and every decision made regarding the student section must be passed through them. If not, they are going to RIOT. We're gonna see a bunch of wigged people with painted faces charging into the student sections with rocks, and bats, and, and tear gas.
hey, when you guys riot and try to beat the crap out of the seniors, can you make like the people did in iRobot, you know, when they tried to rise up against the robots? cause that would be super-sweet, for my own comedic intents and purposes.

But, seriously, dude, the student section tonight could be better than it has been all year, with the seniors, who will no doubt be loud and crazy. they love the hoyas just like the rest of us. so dont bother them from your 6th row seats.

i don't remember that going on during my senior year [2002] either. anyway, i'd much prefer to have a bunch of rabid fans close to the court than just giving them to seniors who may or may not even give a crap...quality, not quantity. that said, don't cause too much of a ruckus if they do ask you to move, though, 007, it's only for one night yeah god forbid you would have to give up your front row seat for one night in favor of a tradition. ESPN Classic will never respect us if we don't have guys in wigs in the front row.

It's not a tradition. They didn't do it last year (or 2002). And I'm not the "keeper of the front row" but I want to have the option for the front row if I'm willing to go early enough to get it. That's the principle of General Admission tickets. If the seniors wanted a front row seat, then they should have to go early just like everyone else. That's how you insure the front row is quality-the people who care enough to go really early tend to be the ones most into the game. Secondly, I think you're being optimistic about the quality of the senior fans adn so do most of the students (including seniors) I've talked to. Hopefully, I (and the people I've talked to) are wrong.
Finally, you could reserve a different section of seats (rows 6-10) that would still guarantee good seats and still allow the people who are willing to go early to get the best seats and the front row. That would still get a big turnout too. The discounted tickets are key too.

I'm definitely bringing my binoculars tonight in case a fight breaks out in the front row of the student section.
Please do it during half-time though, because the half-time shows aren't usually very interesting anyway and I don't want the game to be stopped.

I understand that you are chomping at the bit here, but as a freshman it's time for you to just relax and let the seniors have their one freakin day.
To put it in persective, it's not like they gave them those seats for a game like Cuse or UConn or even ND...it's Seton Hall and it wasn't going to be on TV originally.
Second, I feel bad for present day seniors...they don't have block party, tailgating is curbed, there is no pub on campus and Champs is a hip "lounge" now while the Tombs is getting inundated with underclassmen...I mean come on, give them one night. They don't get much anymore.

I never said anyone has to come approve anything with us, but whoever gets there first and is there every game should be in the front row. You want to have the front rows be made up of the most die-hard fans who are always there and are going to make the atmosphere the best it can possibly be, especially when the game is being televised nationally.
This is not a tradition at all. They haven't reserved seats for seniors in recent years and they shouldn't ever do it. Why should people who barely care about the team be in the front just because they are seniors? Im all for getting people in the stands, but reduced ticket prices is good enough, and then if you want to reserve some seats make it somewhere behind the first 5-10 rows.
And how would the student section be better than it has been all year? Take away all the best fans who make the atmosphere in the front rows truly awesome and replace it with a bunch of seniors who may or may not care that much.

I appologize, because I think my boarding school background is getting me involved in this stupid debate. I guess the concept of seniority got drilled into my head. Hahaha...stupid hazing.
Go for it 007 and TBird, storm the bastille!

They don't get much anymore. I typically like what you have to say, but you're very wrong man. If this is important to them they can get to the game early like anyone else who sits in the front rows does. Die-hard fans deserve the front row, if that includes seniors thats great, but they dont get the front row just because they are seniors. Do you really want the front rows of the student section to be an embarrassment to the basketball program? Having die-hards up there is critical for a student section to look respectable on national tv.

In my years at G-Town (02 grad) we referred to the front row kids that played dress up for the games as "the media sluts," I am not sure if that is still the preferred nomenclature. Often, I found the fans that knew the most often looked innocuous but rooted as hard as anyone, in a less gregarious manner. Being a good fan or bringing a good atmosphere to the game does not necessarily entail stripping ones dignity in favor of face paint and wigs, nor does it ever entail a holier than thou attitude. We want a cohesive student section, yet the front row is dominated by a dress up clique that thinks they are "better" than the other fans.
Let the seniors sit in the front if it is reserved, maybe your "craziness" and "being a great fan" will rub off on those in rows 6-10.
Go Hoyas.

That would still get a big turnout too. The discounted tickets are key too. I actually e-mailed the Hoya Blue president about this, and he said that this will exactly be the case: Rows 6-10 (or something like it) will be reserved for seniors, and the 1st five rows will be open for whomever. Hopefully this will quell some of the worrying, but I doubt it.
