I wish the score had reflected the real disparity between the teams. If we hadn't stopped scoring at the end we would have beaten them by at least 40. The funny thing is that their scout board is trying to blame the refs for the loss. Funny how the refs are at fault when we had 6 more fouls called on us than they did. I guess 15 fouls (and only one player with more than 2) is far more than they feel should ever be called them.

They also thought that their player didn't deserve an intentional foul for clubbing DaJuan in the head with his arm.

It goes without saying this is one of the most memorable Georgetown wins of my life, even if its over a downtrodden, irrelevant, pathetic, good-for-nothing program with an over the hill, lazy, overrated coach who "controls" a bunch of marginal division 1 players with questionable attitudes in a program that emphasizes all the worst aspects of college basketball.
UMCP. I wish we'd beaten them by 70. They're TRASH.

I'm sure Maryland fans can't be thrilled that Jin Soo Kim's biggest contribution to the game tonight was getting an offensive putback over Nikita during garbage time. or being compared to Manu Ginobili by Fran, who must have been drunk or having a stroke to make that comparison. He looked like Ginobili because he fell down. The drunken part was when he explained the comparison by saying "he has great balance."

I really do not understand the vitriol being spewed against the Terps. Some of their fans may be sophomoric and crass (burning couches, throwing glass bottles at opposing team's parents, etc.) but what have they done to deserve so much attention from us.
I lived in DC for 9 years and I did not have any run-ins with any UMCP fans for any reason. I was in Buffalo Billiards for the Sweet Sixteen loss to the Juan Dixon-led Terps and did not experience anything more than the usual jeers from opposing fans. Other than recruiting battles, is there any relevance to this perceived rivalry?
A quadruple overtime loss to Notre Dame when we could have won the game in regulation and the next three OT's, now that's a lasting memory that fosters hate.

After this spiritual clensing, I'm ready to bury the hatchet. Suggestion: We immediately ink a 3-year deal with UMCP. 2009 - Comcast 2010 - McDonough. 2011 - Comcast again, but they give Georgetown 25% of the tickets. I'm torn. On one hand, we are having a local team who made the NCAA tournament, American, come back to our building this year. The only benefit of playing Maryland at Comcast is that at least it would be a road win against a 150-200 RPI team.

There are a lot of teams that I respect a whole lot more that can do more for us. I'd rather see the Shockers again. At least they end up in the tournament sometimes, and their fans didn't seem like wastes of space. I think that we now have the bragging rights, no matter how you measure it. If Gary wants us to legitimize his team by letting them play us, then they have to do it on our terms and our turf.

If coaching has anything to do with the outcome of a game, UMCP is headed toward their third loss in a row when Beilein comes to town.

If you say no, I think we know where you're coming to this argument from. The two ugliest, most wretched fanbases in America are practically one and the same. I was hoping when Gary Williams was on the verge of crying at one point midway through the second half... I hoped Jesse Sapp would run over to the Terp bench and yell LET ME TASTE YOUR TEARS GARY, YUM YUM THE TEARS OF UNFATHOMABLE SADNESS, YOUR TEARS ARE SO YUMMY AND SWEET!!!

I love how some of Gary's comments after the GEORGETOWN game referenced a win from two games ago.
The other disgusting thing I noticed was that Gary got a Tech for something he was yelling. His argument to the ref after the call was that he was (read his lips) "talking to my player." Nice to know that he yells things at his player so bad that the refs call a T.

Growing up in Maryland and being in middle/highschool during the Esherick years while we were bad and the terps were good it was tough to be a hoya fan. It was pretty much me an Jimmyhoya against everyone else. How sweet it is to have things reversed.
I have one thing to say to terp fans, " SUCK FAILURE FREAKS!"

They are bad but I think Philadelphia and Dallas (and maybe Oakland) fans have made valid cases as well.
