I'm just saying you lose the passerby effect. People are forced to see football and lacrosse as they walk around the main part of campus. But unless you knew it was there most students would never know N. Kehoe even exists. If you don't play intramurals most people never make it past Yates.

I agree with HSB. There are lot of soccer fans at GU, but most of them don't know when/where the Hoya teams play. They'd stop to watch the game if they walked past it, but they never have any reason to be up on North Kehoe.
For all its problems, the football team gets quite a few fans because everybody knows when/where the games are. If you're walking down to Leos, you simply can't miss it.
But doesn't the MSF not have enough sideline space for NCAA soccer?

Georgetown Forward Mark Luxama was named one of College Soccer News' 100 Freshman to watch. He's a member of the Hatian U-17 national team
Georgetown Midfielder James Nealis was also named to the team he's the NY State POY and a high school all american.
The men are playing at UNC today in a scrimmage. I'll let you know how it went as soon as I find out.

game started late due to weather. second half just started.Still scoreless. Hoyas were out shot 11-1 in the first half. A tie would be a good result. UNC is #2 in the nation in some polls. They were the runner up last year. Lets see if we can hold the shut out and sneak a goal in.

Game ends 2-1.
Not a bad result. Hung with one of the best teams in the nation.

I'm impressed that Riemer got on the scoresheet, and enjoy seeing Luxama and Nealis on that list, considering neither of them are our most touted recruit Ian Christianson who I guess isn't on there?

Excited for the season to get under way and I am hopeful re: our play against UNC, a little less work for the goalies and it would be great!
Can we change the name of this thread?
