I mean that's been my logic Sleepy and granted these are message board posters so it doesn't make them right. But besides the one website and one poster people aren't even putting georgetown on the bubble. I hope they're wrong. I'm afraid that the comitee will put too much emphasis on the numbers and leave us out. I think we deserve to be in and hopefully the comitee will be right. But i'm not longer expecting it as I was just yesterday.

And that's all they wrote folks.
The women failed to recieve an at large bid. their season is over.
Marquette, rutgers, ND, and WV made it from the Big East
Let's hope the men make it or the this will be very dissapointing.

Well that sucks ass
But anyway I think the women did as well as they could considering the injuries and the other issues. They played without their best players and they still had a pretty damn good year. Thankfully the future looks REALLY bright for Nolan's squad.

That stinks. We finished ahead of Rutgers and beat them. Oh well. The women had a great season and should be really tough next season.

I am disappointed. The NCAA seeding committee has struck again. But in the will wonders ever cease department Portland was seeded #2, the same as their rank this year (For the first time in four years, the University of Portland women’s soccer team has been rewarded with home field advantage in the opening rounds of the NCAA playoffs. Portland, ranked No. 2 in the latest NSCAA national poll, earned a No. 2 seed and will open the postseason by hosting Northern Arizona on Friday, Nov. 14.) I was hoping that the Hoyas made the tourney and we could have a UP-GU match. As it is, Portland and Portland East are #2 and #1 seeds,
The Georgetown women had a great year and deserved to keep playing.

Makes one wonder how far the women would have gone if Ingrid Wells weren't playing in the U20 Women's World Cup.

Soccer seems to be the only collegiate sport now that lets varsity players play in outside competition during the season. I know college teams lose players due to the world cup and other age group related competition (as Ingrid is playing).

Men's RPI is out today on NCAA web site. We're at 57 with 8 Big East Teams ahead of us (SJU at #2, ND at 8, Louisville at 13, USF at 16, UConn at 27, Syracuse at 37, DePaul at 45 and Providence at 46). I would think we are a very long shot of getting a bid to the NCAA Tournament. We'll know on Monday. The Tournament selection will be on ESPN 2 this Monday at 5:30 PM. Keep your fingers crossed!

I'll be really upset if syracuse, depaul, or providence get in ahead of us since they have worse records than us and finished behind us in the big east.

I would be upset too but our record is largley due to a weak schedule (other than the conference) so while it is good it isn't as impressive as it probably needs to be to get selected.

that's true we got hurt by some teams not being as good as they usually are: the Cal st. teams, American, Davidson. are usually better than they were this year. And by just some dead weight: stony brook, and Hartford.
I would not be surprised to see the men miss, It'll just be very annoying. It's also very annoying that the men's tournament is only 48 rather than 64 teams.

That's pretty awesome. I also noticed that there weren't that many goal attempts. Does this mean the entire defense did well or what?

clearly a defense can make a goalkeeper look very good or very bad good defenses prevent shots and limit scoring opportunities and the goalkeeper cleans up the rest if a defense is porous the gk faces alot more shots on goal which will ultimately result in more goals scored no matter how good the goalie is.....in gtown's case this year it was both a good defense and good goalkeeping. This stingy defense will definitely be an trademark of future hoya teams to come

Another reason for the low goal attempts is that Brutto only played about half our games.
