So what is the likely situation for Pat for this upcoming year? Is it possible he gets onto another roster soon, or is he going to have to wait for injuries, etc. to take their toll?

Classic Knick managerial genius decision-making.....

I hope he makes it...but I just dont see it happening, it sounds like the knicks did him a favor seeing if he was good enough. He was a great energy college player. He is much better then the kid from i think south carolina that the knicks took 2 years ago in the first round.

I will officially watch zero knicks games this year.
Don't worry Pat. You're better off not being part of that circus. A smart organization will pick you up in no time!!!

Bummer. There goes my interest in the Knicks. I hope Pat finds a good situation in the NBDL or Europe, and comes back for another NBA shot -- somewhere -- next year! GO PAT!!

Wow I was just thinking about becoming re-interested in this team. That's out the window. What a bunch of clowns. I think they blew a huge chance to bring on an emotional leader and a fan favorite.

I think some more of Knicks' management should go on the Isiah medication plan.

The good news is, with North Korea "sort of" behaving these days, a roster spot may be opening up on the Axis of Evil.
Personally, I nominate the Knicks. ;D
Good luck, Pat. It would've been good to see a Ewing in Knickerbocker blue, but if they don't know what's good for them, then the hell with 'em.

Well, there goes at least a few ticket sales from me. I was planning on getting to the Garden a few times to see Pat, now I'd rather go to the meadow lands, at least they have Devin Harris who's gonna be a stud.

This should have been a no-brainer for the Knicks, but they blew it. Could have had the son of their all-time scoring leader and team leader for so many years. They could have had his enthusiasm and energy. Well, they just wasted it. They probably thought they would let him play in a game that they already thought they lost as a favor to Pat. Pat goes out and shows that he is ready, but they cut him anyway. Thanks for giving him a chance, Knicks.

I have been teetering for a while now, but I am officially a former Knick fan now! What a joke this franchise has become. They waste no time trading for guys making $10M+ a year for the next 5 years, but now they become concerned about the $800K they committed to some loser, Roberson? I have had enough.
I hope Ewing catches on with another franchise and ruins the Knicks his entire career. He deserves a roster spot in the NBA, the clowns that currently litter the knicks and other team's rosters are an embarassment.

Ewing is a guaranteed knick killer from now on, and the worst kind of knick killer. He's the kind (perhaps unprecedented) where the entire Garden will erupt as he takes the court for whatever team he plays for and will reward every bonecrunching dunk he throws down with howls of delight.

Tragedy. I was at the Garden on Saturday night for a Rangers game (my first, which they won in a shootout over the Pens) but found myself imagining coming to Knicks games to catch PEII, perhaps playing the Pacers or Sonics. I checked the Knicks' schedule in the lobby, I plotted out a few dates...My stomach sunk when I read this.

So what is the estimate for the lost revenues of this decision? Ok so its the 400k difference in salaries, but is it really? Roberson is likely going to never help the knicks win a game and therefore never help them put butts in the seats. It cost 400k more to keep Ewing but hes young, hes popular, hell put some amount of butts in seats this year and as he gets better hell get more popular. Ans as evidenced by his last game, he CAN help the knicks win games right now.
C2C, when you go to that OCK game you should hold up a big sign that says "IF EWING JR WERE HERE ID GOT TO MORE THAN ONE GAME A YEAR" or something to that effect. ditto to all hoya NYers who are going to a game, i doubt you will be the only one who feels that way.

Ewing Jr. jersey sales alone would've covered the difference. Well, maybe not... definitely would've sold mroe than Roberson, though.
