Yeah, I just can't trust people who actually play basketball and don't have any sort of blogging experience...

What does this kid Bryant know? He doesn't have a mock draft blog. If so he would know that Hibbert has terribly weak hands. The bloggers can tell you that and they don't even have to see Hibbert play to know this. Bryant doesn't have a clue. The other thing is, Bryant's played with a pretty good big man in Luke Nevill, so it's not he's without a frame or reference and was simply awed by playing with a big man who can take two steps without falling.

In that Bobcats video, Roy looks a lot more fluid than i ever remember seeing him. He still doesn't have the bounce of Jordan or McGee and never will, but he looked more laterally quick and quicker to the basket on his moves. That catch at the 3 point line, jab step left, and drive right down the lane that was early in the video really impressed me. I haven't seen Big Roy look that quick or fluid in his moves before. He also looked like the best shooter of the group by far--which is another big benefit. Jordan and McGee are definitely shorter than him by a couple inches, but that European dude looked pretty tall--he actually looked even a tiny bit taller than Roy in one of the shots. Good to see Roy really pushing to get drafted. And I'm sure teams love hearing him say that he loves to go up against other 7 footers and that it brings the best out of him--not many dudes coming out of college saying that. It would be amazing if he made it back into the lottery. Good luck Roy!

Dudeslade, I kinda disagree. I can think of games against Ohio State (round of 32), against North Carolina, against West Virginia (Big East Tournament semis), Marquette, etc in which he looked very fluid, very quick and very coordinated with the ball. He is a contradiction is that he's a 7'2 guy who looks lumbering and mechanical in one play and then graceful and surprisingly quick the next time down the court. Maybe because I have so many games/footage of Roy that I have seen numerous times those moments just stick with me.
Anyway you are right in that he is looking to be at the best physical condition of his life. Over at HR weeks ago Carlos caught some of Roy's play at Yates and mentioned how he was getting up and down the court even better than he was at the end of last season.

www.draftexpress.com/article/Word-on-the-Street-Golden-State-Workout,-Walker-Injury-2927/ Two players we haven’t heard great things about from their workouts so far as DeAndre Jordan and JaVale McGee. Both have reportedly been outplayed by lower rated prospects such as Alexis Ajinca (in Charlotte) and Roy Hibbert. Jordan has not impressed anyone by showing up for his job interview (what this is essentially) in a t-shirt and shorts while players such as Hibbert and Courtney Lee arrived prepared to get down to business in a suit and tie. Hibbert has gotten some strong reviews from teams who have seen him so far, as he appears to be in excellent shape and is reminding people why he was considered a lock for the lottery just a year ago, running the floor well (better than his peers), finishing with either hand around the basket, and shooting the ball better than expected from outside. Not surprisingly, the 21-year old Georgetown product has been extremely impressive off the court as well—which is an underrated element in this process.

That is awesome MCI! That is a great update. Roy is really proving that his comment about being more mentally and physically prepared for the rigors of the NBA is true. I never really understood how McGee was rated above him in the first place and Jordan's rating was based on a hell of a lot of guessing about his potential and him gaining a work ethic and doing something with that potential instead of being a back-up in college for a year. I'm glad to see that NBA people are remembering why Roy belongs to be drafted higher.

Why is the ad on this page for "Real Jock, The Gay Fitness Community"? Oh, and very good for Roy. Hope to see him at 18.

That's an excellent write-up. I remember seeing pictures and video last year which showed Jeff as the best-dressed guy in the room too. Just more of the little things out program does for its players--prepares them to be impressive adults in a professional/business setting. (Although Roy and Jeff seem like the kind of guys who knew how to carry themselves anyway). I think Roy ends up back in the lottery.

Very good news and not unexpected. I read up as much as possible last night and almost posted how it was starting to sound like Roy was rallying and improving his position, but then I recalled that I didn't have a blog so nobody would take me seriously. UT is going to have to trade up if they want our stud.

Phew, I definitely wasn't going to be the first to mention the gay fitness community ads. Can this somehow, pretty please, be changed? I almost can't visit HoyaTalk in public anymore...
As for Roy, the streets will flow with the blood of the non-believers! I mean... yeah, I think what we've all been saying here was bound to be noticed sooner or later. The truth can only be hidden for so long. Whoever notices it come draft time will be all the better off for it... In the meantime, it's good to hear, and keep it up, big man.

it's really sad though how almost every fan base who gets mentioned with hibbert as a possibility reacts with such vitriol. I mean there's a good long thread on the UNC scout page bashing the idea of charlotte taking a look at hibbert. and every article ususally has a comment or two saying "don't take that stiff bastard, he sucks. He'll never amount to anything in the league."
Which ever fan base gets the privilege of watching roy play is going to be in for a big surprise.

It is sad. I've been noticing that for a couple of weeks too. I'm sure Celtics fans would complain as well even though their team has the very last pick in the first round.

Apparently some people still don't get the concept behind the Google ads. The ads "picked" to be displayed at the top of the page are supposed to be related to the content of the page itself, thus (supposedly) making it more likely someone will click on one of the ads. For example, if there's a thread about Syracuse, the ads displayed will be for GED courses or bail bondsmen. Similarly, if you keep mentioning the ads at the top that bother you, you're only making it more likely that they ads will continue to be displayed.

Who would've ever expected a guy who could defend Greg Oden and Tyler Hansbrough would ever be quick enough to stifle those two giants of basketball, DeAndre Jordan and JaVale McGee?
(And before anyone says that Oden and Hansbrough had good games, of course they did. But Roy wasn't outmatched).
