Yeah, I really want a lot of GM's, talking heads, writers, etc. to come back on this board in about 7-10 years and tell us where Roy should have gone. A lot of people worry about Roy getting pushed around. He actually has shown that he plays BETTER against other true centers--other 7 foot guys--even ones who look like they're stronger than him (See Greg Oden, Aaron Grey...pretty much every other big man he's faced with the exception of Joey Dorsey). I can't wait to see him in the league. Last year, I had to become a Sonics fan. I wonder which team will pick up a fan this year.

A lot of great comments from some idiots out in Salt Lake:
"I am a diehard Jazz fan, utah native currently attending Georgetown. I have seen every hoya game the last 2 years- trust me, hibbert is 10 times softer than collins, the guy is weak, soft, and lazy."
"Thank you "we DO NOT want Hibbert". I was excited to watch Hibbert play live but could not believe how slow and, from what i saw, lazy he was. He was dominated by a 6'7" freshman in Dejuan Blair, how is he going to be effective in the NBA? As I said in an earlier post before this article was polluted with all the Plaisted talk, Hibbert will never amount to more than a Jarron Collins. The Jazz should trade the first round pick and Kirilenko for Tayshaun Prince."

I'm pretty sure I know everyone by that description (maybe 3 people)

So it sound's like he is class of 2010 and a Jazz fan? I'm pretty sure I know everyone by that description (maybe 3 people) Would you possibly know their dorm rooms as well? LOL. What's so sad about the post from that so-called Gtown fan was the unfortunately atypical reaction concerning Blair and Hibbert. In this guy's opinion Hibbert being beaten by Blair (which is how he views it) is proof that Hibbert is unworthy of even going as low as #23! By that logic neither of the Lopez brothers should get drafted at all because they were dominated by Louisville's Caracter back in '07 and got shut down when it counted by the much shorter Kevin Love during three games this past season against UCLA. Ridiculous. Even more annoying is that history is being rewritten again by some folks to the point that they think Blair dominated Hibbert. in the first place. But just take a look at the numbers of both Pitt games last season. Blair didn't come close to doing any such thing. Especially in the second game in the BET where Blair couldn't make shots against Roy and could not guard Roy one-on-one, relying instead on teammates like Sam Young to bail him out by coming over from the weakside to block Hibbert's shots (which reminds me if Roy is such a stiff why did opposing teams keep surrounding him when he touched the ball near the basket, especially with the amount of decent to good shooters the Hoyas had on the team who would be left open when double or triple teaming Roy? You don't swarm stiffs. Instead you HOPE they take a shot). And while I don't have any trouble admitting that Blair is a much better rebounder, I still recall from the championship match up that he got most of his boards with Roy on the bench. Yeah, Roy could and should have played better in that game. But the same could be said of his teammates. So I wish people would stop judging his career by a handful of sub par performances. By the way there is not exactly shame in Blair getting the best of a player in some areas. Blair is very, very good despite his lack of size. He has an Elton Brand quality to his game. Hell, if you want to see domination just take a look at what he did to Thabeet. I wonder if UConn fans look down just as much on Thabeet because of that showing. Doubtful.

I can't wait to see him in the league. Last year, I had to become a Sonics fan. I wonder which team will pick up a fan this year. To be fair to Roy, you cant put Joey Dorsey in the same group with those guys after his combine stats put him at 6'6 and a quarter. Roy outplayed or at least matched anyone who was close to him in size. The people that got the best of him in his 4 years on campus were strong guys in the 6'7-6'10 range that could rebound. This happened for a couple reasons: first as we've all talked about before, Roy was never a great true rebounder and these smaller guys were able sneak by him and get better position and then muscle him out of the way. Second, Roy often picked up tons of fouls in matchups with smaller guys - the size difference contributes to it looking like he is fouling people or going "over the back" when he is really not. All it takes is 1-2 of those bad calls to get him fouled out because he'll probably pick up about 3 legit fouls per game. After the Davidson game I checked all the games that he fouled out at gtown and they were all against these undersized centers. Either way, I think he will have a good NBA career... its funny that these NBA scouts equate potential with what year in college you are. I think Roy has as much potential (as far as ability to improve his game with increased conditioning, strength, teaching, whatever) as anyone out there.

I recall Dorsey scoring on put backs, but generally when Roy was helping to contest the original missed shot. If Roy just camped out in rebounding position he could have averaged double figure rebounds easily, but he had a much bigger role than that on both ends of the court.
