Who would've ever expected a guy who could defend Greg Oden and Tyler Hansbrough would ever be quick enough to stifle those two giants of basketball, DeAndre Jordan and JaVale McGee. (And before anyone says that Oden and Hansbrough had good games, of course they did. But Roy wasn't outmatched). He held his own or played very well against the likes of Oden, Hansbrough, McRoberts, Thabeet, Horford, Noah, Josh Boone, Hilton Armstrong, Gray, Brandon Wright, Hendrix, Dave Padgett, etc. That's an impressive resume that the two other guys don't have.

That's not correct. Didn't Jordan score two points when taking on Kevin Love?

Funny how that six-point game isn't being brought up all the time like a certain other six point game by someone we know.

i dont mean to continue this off topicness, but i think the google ads are also effected by the users personal searching... not sure about that though.
on topic though, im not happy about this blurbed because it implies that there is legitimacy to the argument that roy is somehow not as good of a player or prospect this year that he was last year. these guys shouldnt be shocked by how well roy is doing compared to some 19 year old who spent the last year counting the days until he jumped ship.
oh well, all will be resolved and behind us on the 26th

Instead, I do understand how the google ads are chosen. That doesn't mean that in some way they can't be modified, I suppose, by the magical machine that is Google, does it? I feel like Google should at least receive some feedback on these things, thus perhaps improving their product, and who knows? Maybe we won't have gay community ads here anymore...
On second hand, after having read Filo's post, maybe Google is doing its job only too well...

From today's SLC desertnews:
"Georgetown center Roy Hibbert reportedly worked out last Friday in Charlotte. The Jazz seem to be quite high on the 7-2 senior, and hope to bring him back for a second workout sometime before the draft."

from chad ford's espn draftwatch... roy is listed as one under "who's hot":
Roy Hibbert, C, Georgetown There was a time when Hibbert was considered a potential lottery pick. But a so-so senior season really hurt his draft stock and NBA scouts began questioning his ability to be anything more than a solid backup in the pros.
That view is slowly beginning to change. We're getting more and more feedback from workouts that Hibbert is starting to look like a lottery prospect again. Hibbert has lost roughly 15 pounds, is moving much better and has shown he is much more skilled than several of the younger, higher-profile big men in the draft, such as McGee and DeAndre Jordan.
"You watch him work out against the upside guys and you start to say to yourself, 'Maybe he has some upside left in him, too,'" one GM said. "I'll tell you right now, he's much better than most of the big men in the draft right now. I think he could play from Day 1."
One team to watch early could be the Sacramento Kings. The Kings, sources say, were set to take Hibbert last year before he unexpectedly decided to withdraw his name from the draft. While the Kings drafted another center in Spencer Hawes last year, sources say the team is still very high on Hibbert.

Oh my God.. my head is about to explode. I don't know if it's good that the moron who is Chad Ford is actually starting to come around on Hibbert... Of course, it's just through "his sources," but could Mr. Ford actually get something right for once in his miserable I-look-like-a-fourteen-year-old life?

It must have hurt Ford to type those words. He has essentially hated Hibbert for three years.
Anyway...let the bidding war begin. Utah, you may need to make a trade. I just knew that the GM didn't want to give away anything when he did that post workout interview when Roy made the visit. He could probably see he was sitting on a potential goldmine and didn't want anyone else to get even a clue how much he wanted Roy to stay a low buzz player in the draft. May have even hoped he didn't do any more visits but of course David Falk would have none of that.
I'm sure Larry Brown was even playing up DeAndre Jordan's "athleticism" as possibly a smokescreen as well in order not to show his true hand.
JT III is about to have another notch on his belt.

The experts ignore that Hibbert is young for his class.

As happy as I'll be for Roy personally if he goes in the lottery, I have to say I'll be even happier to watch Gary Parrish climb down from his stupid I'll-told-you-so column from April.

Deandre Jordan, Javale Mcgee, and Brook Lopez need to hang on for their upside potential wingspan lives if they don't want to fall behind Roy. Wish them projected luck.

I've said it for years--will say it again--Chad Ford is less qualified then any poster on this site to "evaluate" the NBA, the NCAA, or a Pee Wee team in Butthole, USA. This man is a stooge and the drivel written by him about Hibbert's "stock" is based upon the fact he likely asked a Syracuse/UConn intern at ESPN about how Hibbert played--and not NBA people. The comment on "skill level" proves that. How could anyone watch a damn 7'2 kid play for 4 years and not see his skill level? Geez.
Chad Ford is the type who gets giddy over European players he's never seen other then YouTube clips, and he's someone who hates on American College players he hasn't seen play. He's an idiot.
7'2 skilled talents will always be welcomed in NBA.

Nbadraft.net's lastest update has Roy going at #18 to the Wizards. I know that nbadraft.net doesn't really know anything, but I'd sure enjoy having him in town so I could see a game or two live.

I know that nbadraft.net doesn't really know anything, but I'd sure enjoy having him in town so I could see a game or two live. nbadraft.net has had Hibbert there for the pst couple of weeks at least which is kind of surprising. Frankly I can't stand the Wizards and the coaching strategy doesn't seem to emphasize post play. Now that I think about it I have to be a bit fair. I mean how can we expect other fans to understand Hibbert's value and abilities when some Hoya fans don't seem to get it either? For example on that very same thread of that UNC Scout board, a Hoya fan "defends" Roy by saying this past season he had to get adjusted to being the focus of the defense when in the previous season the defenses focused only on Jeff. Really? I seem to recall defenses often surrounding Roy more than any other Hoya when he played that final year with Jeff as well as at times going to zone to limit his touches. I also recall Roy earning unanimous First Team BE honors along with Jeff that season. But some folks still imply that Jeff carried that squad by himself. If that's the perception no wonder Hibbert has such a low standing amongst basketball fans in general.
